Bernhard, 1869. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1869. 440 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt lettering. Rough cut pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Hinges are cracked, with some exposed netting and a loose binding. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Bell & Daldy, 1872. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1872. No Edition Remarks. 563 pages. Half bound brown leather with marbled paper covered boards. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Medium cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages slightly loose. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscription and stamp to front pastedown. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Tears to leather to spine. Paper worn away to both boards.

In overall good to very good used condition with only minor signs of handling and storage - original green embossed cloth boards, with gilt titles to spine, are lightly shelfworn and corners rounded. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears little read, no annotations or inscriptions - name very neat to title page; toning to page-ends but text clean and clear throughout. Frontispiece portarit of Sheridan retains its tissue-paper guard. Not an old library book. Photograph available.

Measures around 7 1/2" by 5". Brown cloth binding, embossed and patterned, gilt lettering to spine. Some scuffing and marking. Signs of shelf-wear, slightly bumped and torn corners and edges. Binding reasonably firm, though strained in places. Page edges deckled, browned, scuffed and marked with some staining which has bled onto page surfaces to some degree. A little marking to endpapers. Some creased page corners. Rubbed out inscription to FFEP, the odd pencil mark but otherwise, no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
