Paper covered spine; black titles, worn, especially the ends. Slightly tanned, grubby end papers. Cut edges deckled and tanned. Good text block, tight, only lightly tanned, with some foxing on prelims, a few marks in the text. Eleven lovely steel engraved plates (including frontispiece). Very good for age. Rare.

Also includes an embossed leaf tipped in to the front. Collated, complete. Frederic Shoberl was the editor of Forget Me Not, the first literary annual in English. This years annual includes contributions from Lord Byron, Richard Thomson, and more. In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, sound. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some loss to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Good
