Includes chapters on recipes, how to dress, where to travel, what cosmetics to use, etc. Written by Henry Southgate. Collated, complete. In the original brown cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the board. Internally, generally firmly bound though the front endpapers have come loose. Contemporary ink inscription to front endpaper. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Good

Original chocolate decorated cloth, gilt, at one time rebacked preserving original backstrip. The original endpapers preserved with strengthening of inner hinges. Frontispiece and engraved title slightly foxed. Contents tight and very clean.

William Nimmo, 1875. Book. Fine. Leatherbound. Handsome leatherbound copy with ribbed spines, and extra-bright gilting to covers, and gilting to all page ends. Marbled endpapers with sound hinges. Rear hinge cracked at index joint. With lithographic illustrations including frontispiece of young woman contemplating her household management. Leather covers in very good condition with bright color and little handling. The only flaw is a stain along the spine edge. Benefits the Friends of the Albany, CA library. .
