Taylor was the yachting editor of the New York Tribune, 1927-1942 and a contributor (later managing editor) at Yachting magazine 1923-1962. Vanderbilt defended the America's Cup in his "Rainbow" in 1934.

Addressed to Lucien S. Hanks. Fine. On imprinted letterhead, the yachtsman tells this admirer "I would be only too happy to autograph your copy of my Enterprise book if you will send it to me...." Binding tight and solid. Vanderbilt Club was one of the earliest bidding systems in the game of contract bridge. It was devised by Harold S. Vanderbilt, who had in 1925 devised the game itself.
