There is wear to the spine edges, the bottom of the plastic spiral binding has a minor chip. Some foxing to the top edges, light toning to the pages not affecting the beautiful black and white plates, which are untouched. "Photographs taken from 1929-1948, contains many of Weston's finest images of his beloved Northern California. It is a work that proclaims a technique of great power and unique simplicity.. Illustrated dust-jacket (with "$10.00" price intact) is in one piece, but has loss at both spine ends, at middle of spine, and at bottom corner of both panels at spine. The dust-jacket also has a horizontal crease across middle (where it was folded and tucked inside book). Due to size, international shipping at cost.

A near fine copy with a small bookplate to the front free endpaper and some minor edge wear in an about fair price clipped dust jacket with the flaps detached, chipping along the spine and edges and a number of tears. Still, a very serviceable copy of a book that is uncommon in any jacket.

A classic collection of Weston's nature photographs, reproduced with great fidelity. The book is spiral-bound in printed boards so that images could be easily removed and framed as prints. The book has an introduction by the photographer Dody and excerpts from Weston's daybooks. 81 pages. Roughly 12-1/8 by 14-1/2 inches. First edition (first printing, with no indications of later printings). A very good or better copy in a like dust jacket, which has light soiling to the white areas and a few edge tears. The book is, however, somewhat musty. The spiral binding of this book is very fragile and the dust jacket is ridiculously thin making this a far above average copy, complete with all 30 images.

Dust jacket soiled, chipped and separated at spine and rear flap. Foxing to front endpaper otherwise contents very clean.
Inscribed to Bill and Zelda Holger on front endpaper. Weston met Holger in the 1930s through the f/64 group. Holger was a construction supervisor in San Francisco and an amateur photographer. Holger helped Weston build his house on Wildcat Hill in Carmel.
Laid into this copy is the August 1955 issue of the Carmel Pacific Spectator-Journal with a 3 page article on Weston's nude photography. Also included are several adds for Kodak promoting Weston's color work.
