Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Light cracking and staining to gutters and hinges; some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

The book is firmly and squarely bound in clean black cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt to the spine, the corners and spine ends are slightly bumped and rubbed. The text block is slightly foxed, toned and dusty, it is free from inscriptions, other than that of the author. The D/W is the original and not price-clipped, it is age toned, with minor loss, closed tears and some associated creasing. A rare find, particularly so in the attractively designed 'BB' dust wrapper, not to mention inscribed by the author. A highly-regarded crime novel with an angling setting.
