For over 13 years, Fukase photographed his wife excessively. Yohko herself described their life together as "suffocating dullness interspersed by violent and near suicidal flashes of excitement." The narrative of the images is a collaboration between photographer and model, with Yohko, complicit and often posing for the camera. Eight years later, in 1986, Fukase would publish his iconic book, Ravens. Several of the earlier images here also appear in Ravens.
