Cassell and Company London 1888 G (rebound in lightly soiled red buckram cloth with few ink blots and splashes both boards, corners bumped, yellow endpapers a bit grubby, a good sound copy and generally clean but obviously well read with splashes of what looks like brown watercolour paint or ink on several pages, and occasional grubby marks) quarto 428pp. New and enlarged series. No date of publication but publisher's list at back announces a forthcoming publication in June 1888. Children's annual, illustrated throughout including colour frontis and one full page colour plate.

No date but appears to be circa 1880 with New and Enlarged on title page. A bright color frontis of brother and sister helping little sister to skate. Spine cocked, covers with edgewear, fraying to top of spine. front endpapers with stamp, pastedown, binding firm, pages clean. Record # 385308

No information on this imprint was found in the OCLC records, although a periodical of the same name was published in London beginning in 1871, perhaps indicating this is an American version of the same periodical. GOOD condition. General fading, minor soiling and scuffing to the covers. Moderate scuffing to the extremities. Interior cracked in a few places but solid. Scattered soiling and very minor staining throughout. Paper toned.

Chromolitho coloured frontis. + one other chromolitho with sepia and b/w plates and illustrations throughout text. 427 pages + 8 pages of publisher's catalogue and general adverts to printed yellow endpapers with engravings. A lovely volume.

Boards split at hinges but still holding on by sewn binding. Textblocks good, both volumes. Pages somewhat tanned but clean, NO foxing or markings.

Boards and corners worn, tissue guard to frontispiece slightly foxed, slight offset on title page, 2 slight creases to inner edge of title page, small closed tear to a few margins, part of margin of page 15 torn off, no loss of text, lower edge of page 247 slightly frayed, no loss, light fingermarks to some margins.
