Tips of the corners are bumped and worn through to boards.Outside covers have some streaks and light foxing and the rear cover has a light reddish 1" moisture stain on the bottom edge. The pages are stiff paper and lightly and evenly toned throughout. The hinge is exposed, but strong, between the sixth and seventh page. There is foxing on the hinge side of some but not all of the pages. Offsetting from the maroon free end papers to the second free end papers. "5 cent" in pencil on front free end paper that is barely visible against the maroon color. Charming black and white drawings illustrate every text page. Original beige paper covered boards with wave, fish and border decorations and reproduction of one of the book's illustrations in blue on front cover. A very good, bright and clean copy with small amount of chipping to the top of the spine and minimal rubbing and bumping to the extremities.
