The recipient is Henry ''Chips'' Channon who was along with Nicolson one of the great political diarists of the twentieth century. Both were bisexual, Members of Parliament, although for different parties, and appear frequently in each other's diaries. One of their main bones of contention was the appeasement of Hitler for whom Channon had a great admiration.Covers slightly marked.
