Stated First American Edition, in Good condition, Very Good if not for a moderately worn dust jacket, with a small straight tear on the back edge. Interior pages look almost as new--clean, firm and unmarked. Tight binding. Still in very good reading condition.Good

New York : John Wiley & Sons. VOLUME 2 only! Green decorative cover. Tanning to spine, cloth worn off about 1/2" end of spine, fraying to top spine. Title nearly unreadable on spine. Front & back covers in good shape, however. Mild rubs at lower corners. Worn through top corners. Back inside binding showing webbing at hinge. Prev. owner's bookplate inside front cover. First few pages have tear and chunk missing to top edge, not affecting type. This is due to someone tearing the page open where it is joined to the next one at the top edge. There are many such joined pages, and I will leave those to the next owner to cut open. . Good. Hardcover. 1885.

The Stones of Venice examines Venetian architecture in detail, describing for example over eighty churches.
