Very good indeed in green silk moire cloth with bright gilt lettering and decoration, slightly faded spine, spine ends and corners lightly bumped, contemporary gift inscription to front endpaper, pages clean bar some very light occasional spotting, with 12 tipped-in colour plates by Kay Nielsen with captioned tissue guards, and 40 of his black-and-white illustrations throughout. The scarce original dustjacket, rubbed and without the spine, is loosely laid inside the front board. A nice, unusual copy.

Bound in publisher's black cloth with image pasted to front board and silver lettering to spine. Box bears a duplicate of the image pasted to front board of book. The bottom flap of the upper half of the box (the portion bearing the pasted image) is absent, and the upper right corner of this portion is torn and peeling. The lower half of the box shows tears to the lower right corner and lower edge, with some peeling. Minor bumping to head and tail of volume spine and to corners. Illustrated endpapers.
