George Drouillard is perhaps most notable for his prominent role in ensuring the success of the Lewis and Clark expedition, after which he would become the fur-trading partner of Manual Lisa and established several forts in the Missouri Basin. Drouillard trapped with John Colter and other notable fur-trappers throughout Yellowstone, a region in which he would, in 1810, be killed by Blackfeet individuals.
