Quarto, 13 x 10 inches, publisher's half leather and cloth boards, very good with some rubbing and wear to corners and joints, some freckling or rubbing to lower portion of the cloth on front cover, contents very good, light toning throughout. 351 pp, heavily illustrated with plates, mainly wood engraved, some steel, etc.

All pages are intact. Front cover is loose.

A hefty, substantive work peppered with crisp, lovely steel engravings. Excellent reference for the student or collector of 19th century works. All the steel engravings are quite suitable for framing, should that be your desire.

Apparently Volumes 2 and 3 bound together, but the order of the plates makes it hard to tell. Sold as a collection of very clean steel engravings, numbering appx. 33, all with tissue guards.

Excellent reference for the student or collector of 19th century works. The marble boards and flyleaves are especially exquisite, in bubbles of green, yellow and blue.
