A tribute prefaced by Sherwood Grover and printed by Arlen Philpot with a full page reproduction of a color wood engraving and a text page on the same paper to be used in the Indian Herbal, the last book Dean worked on (for two years) before his death. One small, faint soft crease, else a fine copy of a seemingly scarce memorial.

Inoffensive clear tape to pastedowns and small offset marks to endpapers, minor soiling to covers, still a better than very good copy in archival mylar.

Includes 21 aphorisms from various sources collected by Grover for what was to be the 7th in his series of commonplace books. According to Rice's introduction, Grover had typeset and completed printing, folding and collating 10 of the 21 quotations into one signature and a second signature required only the text in red added to be complete. 4to blue paperwraps printed in black; text printed in black and red and, on page 10, in blue. Hammonds widow or life partner, speaking clearly to the lack of credit she felt Jim (Hammond) received for this seventh commonplace.** She writes to Bob (and Gwen), 9/19/92.  I could feel Jims presence and his approval that we were talking. Hw would have appreciated the Anson Brooks obituary. Reading it reminded that I could not find in our library anything on fly fishing. If there is a book in this area that you have edited or written I would appreciate having a copy. Maybe I can interest my 16 yr old grandson in learning about fly fishing, anything that would get him out of the city and into a natural setting would be a good start for survival in this turbulent world.
