Bound in period full leather, with marbled end papers. The spine strip is missing, with both boards barely holding on, Text pages heavily browned and dry. Binding a bit shaken. This may be a candidate for binding repairs. 1st American edition, printed from the 2nd London edition.

Spine is desiccated and the leather at the joints is separated but the cords are tentatively holding; spine label is gone. Previous owner name on the preliminary blanks; textblock is toned throughout. The four folding, hand-colored plates are present with only minor closed tears at the intersection of the folds. "Saunders was the first to describe paracentesis in acute middle-ear suppuration" Garrison & Morton 3362.
