London: Woodfall Film Productions, 1963. Collection of six vintage borderless studio still photographs from the 1963 film. Snipes affixed to the versos of each. Based on Henry Fielding's 1749 novel, "The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling." An exceptionally popular adaptation of Fielding's classic novel, and winner of four Academy Awards, including best picture. Tom is a feisty, good natured fellow of questionable origins who is turned loose on the world after his devious rival spreads ill-conceived fabrications to his father. Shot on location in England. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.

Beverly Hills, CA: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer [MGM] / Filmways, 1965. Vintage studio still photograph from the 1965 film. Based on the 1948 novel by Evelyn Waugh. The sister film to "Dr. Strangelove," and in the eyes of many, just as much a masterpiece of exquisitely wrought black humor. Made in the US, but in a dense, British-American style. Ostensibly a satire of the funeral business, in which a young British poet winds up in a Hollywood cemetery as part of an inheritance arrangement-but in reality a satire of Hollywood itself, as well as the Western malaise of the mid 1960s. Shot on location throughout Southern California. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good, with pinholes at the corners and edges.

New York: American Film Theatre, 1973. Vintage US one sheet poster for the 1973 US film. Based on Edward Albee's 1966 play. Trouble ensues when an upper-middle-class couple's home in suburban Connecticut is flooded with unexpected visitors, including their bitter, unhappy daughter whose fourth marriage has recently failed. The second film in producer Eli Landau's American Film Theatre series. 27 x 41 inches, folded. Very Good, moderately foxed overall, with creasing to the top and bottom edges.

N.p.: Darryl F. Zanuck Productions, 1961. Collection of nine vintage studio still photographs from the 1961 film. Based on William Faulkner's novels, "Sanctuary" and "Requiem for a Nun." A harsh film with frank dialogue throughout regarding rape, female sensuality, and sexual brutality. The final version of the film suffered from the changes made, an attempt to make something "literary" and "respectable" from a novel where disrespect and ill repute were at the center of a grim story. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine with light toning overall, wrinkling, and a graphite manuscript notation to the verso of one image.

In the vein of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," class resentment simmers beneath the surface of a relationship between a man and a woman. Shot on location in England. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus overall. Laurence Olivier portrays Archie Rice, an aging, second-rate star of the fading music halls, desperate for a big comeback to solve all of his problems, irregardless of the consequences to his family or his finances. Olivier was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. Shot on location in Morecambe, Lancashire, and West Yorkshire, England. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus with cropping annotations to top corners in manuscript wax pencil.

Based on John Irving's 1981 novel, a dark comedy following the eccentric and disaster-prone Berry family, who weather hardships and incest with humor and grace. Set in Vienna and New Hampshire, and shot on location in Montreal, Canada. Maroon untitled wrappers. Title page present, dated 3/10/83, with credits for novelist John Irving and director Tony Richardson. 126 leaves, with last page of text numbered 120. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good plus, with rust marks from a paper clip affecting pages 19-21, wrapper Very Good plus, bound internally with a silver prong.

New York: The Royale Theatre, 1958. Archive of six vintage photographs, a playbill, a program, and a mimeograph summary from the 1958 stage production. Photographs with occasional cropping annotations on the versos. After a smash debut in London in 1957 at the Royal Court and Palace Theatres, the play moved to the Royale Theatre on Broadway in 1958, where it ran for 97 performances, between February 12 and May 10. Osborne's play, written at the behest of Olivier, was about an embittered, middle-aged music hall performer named Archie Rice. Olivier's presence at the theatre, which brought West End London notoriety to a playhouse associated with new and nontraditional drama, made British theatre history. Photographs 8 x 10 inches. Paris: Les Films Marceau, 1968. Three Draft scripts for the 1969 film by three different screenwriters. From the estate of film producer Elliott Kastner, whose best known credits include "The Long Goodbye" (Robert Altman, 1973), "The Missouri Breaks" (Arthur Penn, 1976), and "Heat" (Michael Mann, 1996). The first script is an undated draft script by screenwriter George Bluestone, who previously adapted Winston Graham's 1967 novel "The Walking Stick," for the 1968 Eric Till film, with copied annotations throughout, striking, adding, and adjusting dialogue. The second is a Second draft script, dated 1st April, 1968, by novelist, playwright and screenwriter Derek Marlow, with copied annotations striking scenes or pages on nearly every page. Marlow said in an interview that he was asked by director Tony Richardson which book he'd like to adapt for a screenplay, and Marlow suggested Nabakov's "Laughter in the Dark."
