Light foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Pen inscription to half title page. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

London: Country Life, 1937 A firm copy, evidently seldom read, internally very good with slight tanning to endpapers, greeting on fep dated 1938 - neat hand, a little dustiness/spotting to the edges of the textblock, cover bright subject to a hint of water staining and an abrasion to top edge of front board. The dj (clipped) has a fair degree of browning and marking , some fraying (no impact on lettering) and a slit between the rear panel and spine. Scans available.

Fore-edges rough cut. Spine a little tanned and some light or slight mottling to the boards. Some foxing - chiefly to the fore-edges and to the end-papers - scattered and light elsewhere. A very good tight copy of a lovely book

Signed by author and illustrator. In a good dustwrapper which shows some soiling and which has smallish chips and tears. The wrapper, which is not price-clipped, is now protected in a clear, removable sleeve. No ownership inscription and not foxed. 202 pages. 12 full page tissue guarded colour plates.12 "pencil plates". Described as "largely a practical book on the shooting of partridge, pheasant, wildfowl and lesser game." Photographs available on request.
