The text is illustrated with black and white cartoons drawn by WEG over a 35 year period for the Melbourne newspaper The Herald. The book is sectioned into time periods, 1949 to 1953, 1954 to 1958, 1959 to 1963, 1964 to 1968, 1969 to 1973, 1974 to 1978 and 1979 to 1983. Each year section has a small description of the influences that caused WEG to draw his cartoons. Illustrated covers, by WEG, with white background and red and black titles to the front panel.
