An intriguing look at the patrons of a cafeteria on Chicago's South Side. The author introduces to the characters he met over his four years frequenting the cafeteria. Includes photos from Pulitzer wiinning photographer Ovie Carter. VG+ in a NF jacket. Book fine save for one page with a very large corner bend. Jacket has a little rubbing, a bent corner on the lower left rear flap.

Book VG with foxing to top edge and a bit on fore-edge. Price-clipped jacket is Good, with foxing, wear to top corners, a couple small tears, and a large tear to rear panel repaired with non-archival, yellowed tape.

Mayfield Publishing Company, 1993. Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. An examination of archaeological research done at a site in Connecticut, where Native Americans, African-American slavs, and colonists all resided in the 18th and 19th centuries. VG in pictorial wraps, with a little faint pencil underlining, and a few asterisks/exclamation marks in the margins. Excellent working copy

Girard Kansas: Haldeman-Julius Company, 1926. Soft cover. Very Good. 32mo - over 4 - 5" tall. One of the extremely widely sold "little blue books" from an enterprising Kansas publisher. The series included all manner of fiction and non-fiction, sold cheaply at all sorts of stores. Sanger is best known as an advocate for contraception, but that is not touched upon here. Instead, this is certainly one of the first widely distributed publications to bring a frank discussions of puberty, masturbation, sex, pregnancy and childbirth, venereal disease, and menopause to the broader American public. This small pamphlet is (of course) blue, with some toning and staining to the covers, and a small tear to the top rear, with browned pages. Still, beyond that, for its age a quite good copy of a book printed so cheaply that its survival was not widely expected.
