Not Enough Rope is a one-act farce by Elaine May. A woman is insistent upon committing suicide, but her new neighbour seems oblivious and uninterested in the depths of her plight. While accommodating to a fault, he remains more interested in unpacking and playing his drums which drowns out her pleas for help and wakes up the elderly neighbour who joins the fracas. Chaos ensues! Elaine Iva May (b. 1932) is an American comedian, film director, screenwriter, playwright, and actress. She made her initial impact in the 1950s with her improvisational comedy routines with Mike Nichols, performing as Nichols and May. This play was produced by arrangemetn with the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond St., London: "Peter Pan's Hospital". Margaret Lockwood plays the title role with Julia Lockwood as Wendy, Jane Wren as Tinkerbell. In 1950, while playing Peter Pan, Lockwood had given daughter, Julia, a pledge: ’As soon as you’re old enough you shall play Wendy if we can arrange it, and I’ll be Peter.’ Seven years later, the pledge was kept. Zuni Icosahedron is a Hong Kong-based international experimental theatre company. Founded in 1982, Zuni is one of the nine major professional performing arts groups subsidised by the HKSAR government and has produced more than 190 original productions of alternative theatre and multimedia performances. As well as theatre works, Zuni is also active in video, sound experimentation and installation art, as well as working in the areas of arts education, arts criticism, cultural policy research and international cultural exchange. Cast included Louis Raynes, Yetta Jacobs; Ivor Kimmel, Leila Roth, Leon Irvine, Patricia Dodsworth, and others. "Plantagenet Productions" was based at Westridge Studio. Dorothy Rose - DR Dorothy Rose Jessie Gribble was an actress, known for Doctor Who (1963), Monitor (1958) and ITV Play of the Week (1955). She died on 1st October 2014 and bequeathed Westridge Studio to the village of Highclere to be used for the Arts.
