Spine very slightly faded, endpapers age-darkened, book is clean and sound. Unclipped dust jacket is torn along folds, darkened and chipped, but is overall complete. A comics-like pencil sketch by Clare Dwiggins INSCRIBED AND SIGNED "Dwig" on front pastedown. Text is profusely illustrated throughout by Dwiggins.

London: Thomas Tegg, 1813. Fifth Edition, Enlarged . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 216p. Printed blue paper over boards, color frontispiece. Wear to corners and spine ends, spine sunned and lightly chipped, owner's bookplate and glue residue on front free endpaper, chip to lower front endpaper, but the text is clean and crisp, and the binding and hinges are sound.

London: Vizetelly & Co. , 1890. Hardcover. Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. C.Eisen and C.P. Marillier. 124pp., no date c1890. Three-quarter maroon leather, marbled boards and endpapers, a Limited Edition of 1,100 copies of which this copy is No. 5, copperplate engravings with tissue-guards throughout. Front board detached but present, spine worn and chipped including one inch piece from head of spine, edges rubbed, text and engravings are in very good, unblemished condition. Profusely illustrated with meticulously detailed copperplate engravings.

Paris: Librairie Plon, 1925. Hardcover. Good. Oblong 4to. M.B. de Monvel. 48pp. No date, circa 1925, a small 1929 stamp on rear endpaper. Text in French. Tan florally decorated cloth, black lettering and gilt decoration. Some discoloring to cover, contents are clean and unmarked. Title page has a charming Christmas inscription very neatly printed on the illustrated animals.

Buenos Aires: Imprenta Lopez, 1945. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. 33pp, 58 plates in blackand white and in color. Text in Spanish. Tan boards, gilt letterimg and decoration. Chipping to spine. Text and plates mainly clean, last plate has 3 very small abrasions, slight internal separation, all pages and plates holding. Slipcase is worn at corners and lightly soiled. Laid-in is Imprenta Lopez business card of José M. Lopez Soto. Slight paperclip impression on front free endpaper.

Paris: Six Rozemans, 1869. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Unpaginated. Brown cloth library binding, gilt lettering. Rebound in library binding, original wrappers intact, pages unopened, rough cut edges, library stamps and label removal on binding's endpapers only, not affecting bound-in book, small hole in library free endpaper, slight darkening to some page edges. A very well-preserved book.

Paris: Mercure de France, 1917. Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. 252p. Couverture souple. LIght soiling and aging, 2 small spots to front cover, text is sound. Quatorzième édition, 14th edition. Owner's name on half-title page.

Richmond, Virginai: The Dietz Press, Inc., 1950. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 77pp. Green cloth. Cover and contents are both clean and sound, INSCRIBED, SIGNED and dated by the author on front free endpaper.

Boston: Published By the Author, 1857. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 132pp. Later printing. Brown cloth, gilt lettering, frontispiece with tissue-guard. Book is in very nice condition, with only very slight exterior wear. Contents are age-toned, clean and appear to be unread.

New York: A.L. Burt Company, 1901. Full-Leather. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 214pp. Brown debossed flexible leather boards with floral ornamentation and gilt title to front cover, all edges gilt. 8 full page half tone illustrations, red silk ribbon bookmark. Edge and spine wear, but overall very attractive. LIght soiling to endpapers and mild age-toning but otherwise clean. Works by Burns, Cunningham, Hogg, Macneill, Scott, Tannahill and others.

Boston: Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1887. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. 187pp. Green and white cloth, gilt spine lettering, ilt. Corners lightly rubbed, spine darkened, light soil to boards, contents clean, binding sound. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Horace E. Scudder on title page. Inscription reads: "Chosen and ordered by Horace E. Scudder." Scudder was a writer and also the editor for Houghton, Mifflin's Riverside Literature Series.

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1939. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Good. 97pp. Green cloth, gilt lettering to cover and spine. cover and contents are in very clean and sound condition, slight fade to spine. Unclipped dust jacket is partially darkened and lightly chipped. A SIGNED and dated inscription by the author is on the front free endpaper.

New York: C. Shepard & Co., 1850. Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. 24pp. Stitched blue printed wraps. Light wear and light soil to cover, contents are lightly foxed and have some thumb marks in margins, binding is sound. Stories and rhymes as told by Uncle Roderick. This unusual booklet, originally distributed by Grover & Baker's Sewing Machine Company, contains advertising for their products on rear cover (inside and outside), and inside front cover. Illustrated throughout.

Stuttgart: Deutschen Verlags-Anstalt, 1914. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. Paul Haustien. [4],32,[2],38pp. Full marroon morocco with elaborate gilt design to cover and spine, all edges gilt, gilt floral endpapers, in slipcase. Published in an edition of 300 copies,of which this is No. 203. Very minor wear to boards, spine is chipped at both ends, cracking along joints, boards holding and binding is tight. Slipcase is worn mainly along edges and corners. Text is in German, printed on a heavy card stock with lavishly decorated ornamentation throughout, followed by 38 pages of commentary. Translated from the Persian by Friedrich Rosen, and designed by Paul Haustein.

New York: Charles Pratt & Co., 1882. Soft cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 101pp. Heavy coarse-stock imprinted wraps. Soiling and spotting to covers, occasional marginal spot, insecting to last 2 leaves. A curious collection of familiar and uncommon poems and songs published by Charles Pratt & Co., and given to its customers at Christmastime. Ads for Pratt's Astral Oil, Benzine, Naptha and Gasolene appear at end of book.

Bosaton: James French, 1851. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 252pp. Green stamped boards, gilt spine lettering. Ex-library with usual markings, splitting to spine and joints, binding holding tightly, library stamp on title page, text is clean. Last page of text has a fascinating and unusual handwritten message, presumably by the author, which reads : "This volume was not printed under the surperintendance of the author, and therefore he is not accountable for the (mistakes?) and typographical errors in it. Author" Portions of the text even have small corrections handwritten in it, evidently by the author.

Book is in clean, unworn condition. Boldly INSCRIBED to Suzie AND SIGNED on the front free endpaper. Laid-in is a typed letter SIGNED "Don", in pencil, to Susie [sic]. In the letter he enthusiastically discusses the promotion of his book. Unclipped dust jacket is lightly chipped and rubbed along edges and folds and slightly darkened.

Small patches of wear to corners and spine ends, some wear to joints, contents age-toned, small bookseller label on front pastedown, inscription dated March 1865 on front free endpaper. A compilation of the author's poems in a very handsomel leather binding.
