Spine very slightly faded, endpapers age-darkened, book is clean and sound. Unclipped dust jacket is torn along folds, darkened and chipped, but is overall complete. A comics-like pencil sketch by Clare Dwiggins INSCRIBED AND SIGNED "Dwig" on front pastedown. Text is profusely illustrated throughout by Dwiggins.

London: Thomas Tegg, 1813. Fifth Edition, Enlarged . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 216p. Printed blue paper over boards, color frontispiece. Wear to corners and spine ends, spine sunned and lightly chipped, owner's bookplate and glue residue on front free endpaper, chip to lower front endpaper, but the text is clean and crisp, and the binding and hinges are sound.

Clean and sound both inside and outside, inscription on front free endpaper reads "Ella with the regards of the author Oct.27, 92'" in the author's handwriting. A wonderful collection of sketches and anecdotes.

Portland, Maine: D. McGregor & Co., 1873. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Beatrix Potter. 164pp. Brown flexible embossed cloth, gilt lettering, marbled edges, 2 folding maps. Light shelfwear, gilt slightly chipped but all readable, inner hinge cracked, text block holding, title page not present, contents age-toned. Maps are lightly chipped along outer edge and clean tears archival tape repaired, in otherwise sound condition. Complete astronomical almanac information and Tide Tables showing the time of high water morning and evening, for the principal ports in the United Kingdom, plus a listing of the lighthouses of the United Kingdom. The last part of the book has a section on the "Treatment of the Apparently Drowned", with illustrations, followed by an extensive advertising section. One map is of Falmouth Harbour, and the other is the Firth of Clyde. But for the lack of a title page, a well-preserved scarce nautical record.

Unstated: Ustated, 1930. Soft cover. Good. Tall 4to. Mike Davis - Photography. Unpaginated 32pp. ,measures 10 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches, no publication date c 1930s. Light green stiff wraps, pictorial paste-on title to front cover. Corners chipped, light wear and soil to cover, contents are clean and unmarked. Illustrated.

New York: Sheldon & Company, 1871. First Edition, Second State . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 46pp. Terra cotta cloth, gilt lettering. Corners and spine ends very lightly rubbed, interior is age-toned, clean and binding is tight. First Edition Second State with Ball, Black & Co. ad on copyright page. Not really a biography, but amusing. Illustrated.

Hartford: S. Andrus & Son.. Hardcover. Good. 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall. 156pp. No date, circa 1850s. Brown stamped cloth, gilt spine lettering. Covers faded, light wear to corners, some chipping along spine, binding is tight and hinges are sound, contents moderateley toned and occasionally foxed. These stories were originally published in Punch in 1845.

In the letter he enthusiastically discusses the promotion of his book. Unclipped dust jacket is lightly chipped and rubbed along edges and folds and slightly darkened.

Includes a handwritten 1942 letter by W. Lyon Parker, and a W. Parker Lyon Narrow Gauge Railway ticket from Arcadia to Santa Anita along the Haw Haw Route, plus addressed envelope.
