Volume 1 ONLY of this study of medals issued by the Roman Empire, as well as European medals issued during the same period. GOOD condition. Moderate scuffing, heavy along the hinges. Minor soiling. Minor spots of staining to the covers. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Interior hinges cracked but intact. Uneven moderate to heavy browning to the paper throughout, with moderate to heavy scattered foxing. Former owner's bookplate on the inside front cover, with dark shading on and around it, perhaps from the glue used.

A description of detailed illustrations depicting the construction of forges for metalwork, with dimensions and other considerations included. Presumably issued to accompany "L'Art du Maitre de Forges," by Edmond Pelouze. GOOD condition. Heavy darkening and dampstaining along the upper edge and spine. Minor soiling and staining. Moderate creasing along the extremities, with minor chipping and tearing. Spine split along the upper half. Interior solid with minor toning.

Brooklin, ME: WoodenBoat Publications, 2000. Wraps. Very Good. Wraps. 185 pp. Black and white line drawings throughout. A gathering of vessel designs first featured in the Rudder Magazine from 1897 to 1942. This includes sail and power boats, and types such as catboats, sloops, yawls, launches, runabouts, and a selection of commercial and military boats. VERY GOOD+ condition. Light fading and edgewear.

Burlington, VT: Wells and Richardson. Wraps. Good. no date, presumed circa 1913. Color illustrated wraps. 34 pp., including covers. Black and white illustrations of fashions for women, men and children. A promotional booklet for the use of Diamond Dyes, touting them for altering the colors of existing clothing, as well as for remedying stains, etc. With a list of instructions in the rear for dyeing (using the Diamond Dyes). GOOD condition. Old tape repairs along both covers' fore edges, repairing, tears, creases and chips. Tape repair to the spine. Moderate creasing, soiling and general browning, with a few small scattered stains. Minor offsetting in the interior.

Ten volumes, arranged alphabetically, this work offers biographical and bibliographic information on painters, sculptors and other artists from around the world and spanning all ages and movements, as well as listing museums where their work is held, prizes received and a few auction prices. Originally published in the early 1900's, this is the revised and expanded 1976 edition. With reproductions of artist signatures and marks when available. GOOD condition, ex-museum library. Library bookplates at the front of each volume, with spine labels present on most volumes. No other treatments present. General fading to the cloth, with minor scuffing. Cloth worn along the fore edges of most volumes. Interiors clean and solid.

Geared for the beginner, this work provides a basic chronology of the developments and innovations in English clock making throughout history, with many photos providing detailed looks at the interiors of clocks and their various mechanisms. GOOD+ condition, ex-museum library (Strawbery Banke.) With the usual library markings: bookplate and a card pocket. Minor fading to the covers, with some scuffing along the extremities. A work providing a history of fencing and swordsmanship, both on a broad scope as well as the development of fencing in Sweden. This includes the last 100 years of fencing as a sport in Sweden, as well as a pictorial catalog of various epees/swords used in fencing throughout history. GOOD jacket on a NEAR FINE book. Minor soiling, darkening and scuffing to the jacket. Some creasing and curling along the extremities, with a 2 inch tear along the upper right jacket corner of one side. Minor soiling and edgewear to the book. Previous owner's gift inscription on the title page. Interior clean and solid.

Facts on radiation, suggestions on supplies and equipment needed and detailed blueprint style plans of shelters included. GOOD condition. Moderate uneven toning. Minor soiling, spotting and staining. Some scuffing and soiling. A few minor stains present. Extremities bumped, scuffed and worn. Paper toned in the interior. Small tear/area of wrinkling to page 89/90. Doodle on the last endpaper.

No Place: The Butterick Publishing Co, 1898. Soft Cover. Good. Side stapled magazine. Approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches. LACKING outer wraps. Pagination runs 59-104. With many black and white illustrations of various ladies' fashions. This includes capes, shirts, dresses, boys and girls clothing, hats, etc. Primarily a catalog for patterns issued by the Butterick company, with illustrations of each item of clothing accompanied by pattern number and detailed text descriptions, all depicting the current fashions of the day. Also of note are two pages of knitting and crochet patterns (lace knitting) as well as a section of simple recipes for sandwiches, sauces and ices. GOOD condition, lacking outer wraps. Paper toned, with some offsetting along the extremities. Minor creasing along the extremities. 3/4 inch chip missing from the upper margin of the last page.

Minor fading, scuffing and wrinkling. Several faint ring stains present to the covers.

A heavily mathematical based treatise on the steam engine, providing detailed mathematical formulas and principles to be used in applications for constructing steam engines and their various parts. With a section examining the mathematic principles behind navigation and steering in various bodies of water, as well as a section on the American monitors and their use. GOOD condition. Covers faded, with some soiling, minor staining and discoloration. Small chip in the cloth on the lower front cover. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Minor scattered foxing throughout.
