Ownership signature to endpaper. Spine and top edge of front cover faded, back cover also faded. Head and tail of spine frayed with small split in cloth to lower joint at head of spine. Pages browned, prelims and outer edges of pages foxed otherwise a clean and sound copy.

Wrapper worn, torn and rubbed with large portions missing to head and tail of spine lower and upper margin (largest 11x 5cm) o/w this is a charming period piece. VG-/Poor.

Small portion missing from head of spine. Front free endpaper partially attached to front pastedown. Previous ownership inscriptions to half-title and rear endpaper plus two delightful pencil drawings of a girl and boy to rear endpapers. Owners were all in Lantwitt Major. Some browning and very occasional staining to pages otherwise a remarkably clean and sound copy for a book that is over 250 years old!
