The book profiles the Japanese Type A standard ship, with fleet owners' Lists, comparisons with the Allied standard ship designs and a brief history of the 140 ships built.

Conway, in association with the National Maritime Museum, with introduction by Dr.Basil Greenhill. First published 1983, 256 p. with index, ill. with line drawings and sketches, considered an excellent study in the area of research about the small boats. Heavy require more postage.

Brown, Son & Ferguson, Glasgow, 1929, first edition, xv, 443 p., numerous illustrations and plans 18 pages, some foldouts, maps on liners. Includes index. Good, wear to corners of bds and spine. "The Last Boom in Sail" and "The Limejuicers of 1888-9". Other chapters deal with "The Carriers of the Nineties" and "The Square Riggers of the 20th Century. Last Chapter in this volume is "Small Fry" followed by the Appendix.
