He was the Economic Advisor for International Affairs to the U.S. Department of State in the Hoover and Roosevelt administrations. Feis won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1961 for Between War and Peace: The Potsdam Conference (Princeton University Press, 1960). It features the Potsdam Conference and the origins of the Cold War. History of the 107th New York Infantry Regiment in WWI. The 107th was formed from the patrician 7th NYIR and the plebian 1st and 12th Infantry Regiments of upstate New York. This merged unit of the "silk stockings" and the "apple knockers" hurled themselves against the Hindenburg Line. This action contributed to the collapse of the German Army and the ending of the war a few weeks later.
