Hilton on page opposite dedication page. 100 pp. Bright, crisp and clean copy with very slight right lean. Dust jacket is also bright and clean with light rubbing and edgewear.

Green cloth boards - some very faint spotting on front board. Light corner and spine end bumping. Clean and bright interior. Dust jacket has chipping loss on spine top, about 1" X 1/2" with some creasing and small tears. Corners have some chipping, especially on top corners, and there is a little tearing. Top edge has creasing and a little fraying. Still bright and in protective cover now.

Signed by Halsell on front free end paper and dated by same hand, "8.28.1944" on verso of title page. Personal narrative of life in early Wise County, Texas, cattle drives and cowboy's life. Dedicated to "The Old Cherokee Strip Riders who galloped up and down the Old Cimarron with me in the years ending in 1889". Rust-red colored cloth boards with black graphic of cowboy and horse and black print. Light corner and spine end wear. Pages are tanned, and interior is clean but for tiny smudge in margin of one page. A few bottom page corners have slight creasing.

Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 319 pp. Silver boards with red title on front board.Silver is bright but showing some corner wear and a little loss of color on spine ends. Red print is bright. Book has three previous owners names, one on label on front pastedown paper, one one front free end paper, and one on rear free end paper. Else clean and tight with very slight right lean. No dust jacket as issued.

Orange cloth boards are bright with black drawing of Santa Anna on horseback on front board and below red text block on spine. Minor corner and edgewear. Previous owner's seal embossed on half-title page. Forward edge of foreword, preface and table of contents have a spot which grows smaller until it disappears after page xix. Text block clean. Top page edge has foxing and soiling, and forward and bottom page edges have light spotting. Dust jacket has tears and creasing on top edge, front and rear panel. Top of spine has chipping loss and 1" u-shaped tear. Bottom of spine also shows a little chipping loss. Light areas of front panel and spine have some staining and light spotting, and the hinges show rubbing wear with a small hole rubbed in the front hinge in the last letter "E" in the title, "The Eagle". A history of Kilgore, TX, home of the Richest Acre Park in downtown which once had the densest population of oil wells in the world. 312 pp. Oversize format, 8-3/4"W X 11-1/4"H. Brown boards with bright gilt print on front and spine. Slight right lean to book and corners have minor bumping. Pictorial end papers show photo of oil derricks as far as the eye can see, depicting Kilgore in the 30's, 40's and 50's. Front free end paper has previous owner's note in large handwriting with her name. No date on copyright page, but previous owner dated her note May 27, 2008. Dust jacket has gold background which is bright on front panel but shows rubbing on rear panel. Top edge of front has 1" closed tear which had been tape-repaired, and spine ends have some chipping/fraying. Flap folds have a little creasing and rubbing. Now in protective cover.

A history of Texas' westernmost city, lively and colorful. Stated first edition. 387 pages. Bright, crisp and tight copy with light foxing on top page edge. Dust jacket is also bright and crisp with slight creasing on edge and flap fold. Now in protective cover.

Published by press established by Friends of the Austin Public Library in order to publish local history and housed in the Austin-Travis County Collection. 99 pp. including Index and Postscript with the Roster of Company B, 21st Texas Cavalry, in which Walton served. Light corner wear and spine end wear, with top edge of spine having some fraying of the black cloth of boards. Bright gilt facsimile of Walton's signature on front board. Clean and tight. Dust jacket is tan with brown print and shows light corner and spine end chipping. Now in protective cover. Laid in is the Friends of the Austin Public Library Publication card with a listing of 50 sponsors, including Mrs. J. Frank Dobie and Sen. and Mrs. Ralph W. Yarborough. Also laid in is a news clipping with the title, "Austin Confederate" by William B. Ruggles, about the release of the book.

Oversize, 8-1/2"W X 11"H. 153 pp including many photos. White covers are illustrated with well-done pencil sketches and have some slight yellowing on edges. Also a few small spots and faint red mark on front cover. Spine is somewhat a little wornat the fold. Clean and bright interior - last page has small crease on bottom corner. Sturdy and will-preserved.

Fascinating look at a rough and tumble time when law and order was in its early stages in most of Texas.

Front hinge area of dust jacket has small separation on top and bottom. Now in protective cover.

Rear board has some rubbing, and front board has small rubbed spot. Front paste down paper and opposite end paper have map of early Fisher & Miller's Colonby, 1855. Laid in is an invitation from Abilene Savings to a preview opening of an exhibition of paintings of J. Robert Miller, Feb. 16, 1969.Very nice signed copy of scarce Texas history.

Corners and edges show light wear. Now in acrylic cover.
