John C Nimmo, 1889. Numbered. Full-Leather. Fair/No Jacket. Joseph Grego. 2 Volumes. This is #69 of 870 copies limited edition. Rebound in full tan leather with gilt border. Corners bumped and edges heavily rubbed, chipped on both volumes. Ribbed spine with gilt lettering. All edges gilt. Vol 1 -Cover is separated and free endpaper and following 2 pages are completely separated, laid in. Binding is otherwise tight. 351 pp. Vol 2 - Front Cover is separated but text is tight. Bookplate in both volumes.

Decorative gilt and ribbed spine with title completely faded. Scuffed at corners and some tanning to side edge at top. Top Edge Gilt. Marbled endpapers. Vol 1 front Cover is completely detached with front free end paper beginning to separate. Tissue intact.239pp Vol 2 is square and tight except frontispiece with tissue is completely separated. 259 pp

Accompanied by exquisite wood engravings by Joan Hassall. Third impression, 1958. Book in Very Good condition, with dark blue cloth boards and silver lettering on spine. Light shelf wear along corners/edges. Light greying/tanning to interior. Otherwise a very nice, clean copy. Dust jacket in good condition: one inch tear along top of spine area, small chips/tears at bottom of spine area, otherwise light soiling/rubbing. Lovely book by this important British author.

Vizetelly and Company, 1887. Half-Leather. Fair/No Jacket. Partial leather. Front Cover fully separated. Appears rebound. Heavy chipping to spine and title partially chipped off. Marbled endpapers. Text still tight. 6 age block in center has bottom edge of text trimmed.

Chip at top edge of spine and gilt is legible but faded. Heavy spotting to endpapers and some small notations on ffep. Text block is sewn and pages uncut begginning to loosen but still square.

From the Committee on Old Age Security of the Twentieth Century Fund. Orange boards with black lettering, in very good condition, with light edgewear and rubbing, small tear to bottom of spine. Binding secure. Interior with previous owner's name to front free endpaper, penciled marginalia throughout.
