"March, 1953.The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. J.C. Godowns, chairman of the folk dance festival. She introduced Mrs. T.F. Reid who gave an interesting study of folk music. Mrs W.O. Whitsell assisted her by the folk melodies at the piano … Following the program the hostesses served delicious punch, sandwiches and cookies, and a social hour was enjoyed."
