Binding a bit rubbed & soiled, otherwise very good & internally about fine.
A voluminous account of this auspicious group providing minutes, membership rolls, summaries of educational presentations, and often descriptions of performances & events. In addition to Ms. Shuler, contributors include: Elise Watson, Arnette Culler, Margaret G. Yongue, Mrs. Otto Warren, Jr., & Ellen Putnam.
"March, 1953.The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. J.C. Godowns, chairman of the folk dance festival. She introduced Mrs. T.F. Reid who gave an interesting study of folk music. Mrs W.O. Whitsell assisted her by the folk melodies at the piano … Following the program the hostesses served delicious punch, sandwiches and cookies, and a social hour was enjoyed."

No place [Havana ?]: Revista Musical Cubana, 1952. Broadside Handbill, octavo (8.75" x 5.5"), 1 pp., with separate publicity photo of Santos (5.25" 3.5"), rubber-stamoed on the verso apparently relative to his later tour of Venezuala.
Broadside with small losses at the corners affecting one letter, old folds, toned, otherwise good or better. Photo corner creased, some loss of emulsion in the margins of the upper corners, rubber-stamping a bit obscure, still good.
Daniel Santos, Peurto Rican singer & composer, lived & performed in Havana from 1946 until 1952. Active in the Puerto Rican Independence Movement, he also was a supporter of Fidel Castro but came to believe the Cuban Revolution was not nationalistic.

Offsetting at endpapers & pastedowns, sporadic minor foxing mostly at the edges of the textblock, small booksellers' rubber stamp at front pastedown, very good or better in soiled dust jacket with old tape repairs on the verso, browned at the spine, with edge wear including with losses & tears (including a 1.5" x 2" loss mid spine not affecting text), certainly good or so.A splendid autobiography by Ms Duncan; communist, bisexual, atheist, who once waved a red scarf & bared a breast on stage in Boston, proclaiming, "This is red! So am I!"

Binding lightly soiled, couple of bruises, "170" in black marker on the title page, otherwise Very Good.An original screenplay for the wonderful 1991 movie starring Nick Nolte & Barbra Streisand (who also directed) As described by Variety, the Prince of Tides is "a deeply moving exploration of the tangled emotions of a dysfunctional Southern family, this lovingly crafted (though unevenly scripted) film of Pat Conroy's novel centers on Nick Nolte's performance of a lifetime. Moderately toned & lightly soiled, slight edge wear, otherwise very good or better.
The introduction by Albert E. Gibson, who was Promotion Manager for Radio Station WSM, provides a brief biography of Acuff & a history of the Smoky Mountain Boys.

Franklin, Ohio & Denver, Colorado: Eldridge Entertainment House, 1927. First edition. 12mo, 41 & [3] pages. Original pictorial stapled paper wraps.
Covers almost detached, tape repairs securing front & back wraps, edge wear including small losses & tears, soiled, about Good & still quite serviceable.
Provides instructions for staging a carnival & a series of comedy sketches & stunts to thrill the crowd

Cavendish, Vermont: Baptist Church, 1885. Original broadside/ handbill, octavo (9.25" x 6") printed in black ink on light paper. This copy signed faintly in ink at the upper margin by Hudson: "Please admit Mr. & Mrs. [?] Ward, Complimentary, Mrs. H.B. Hudson."
Old folds, edge wear including nicks & short tears, signature faded, otherwise Good.
Although from Brooklyn, Mrs. Hudson apparently spent summers with her father in Ludlow. She also gave generously to the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.

Montreal, Canada: Les Productions Claude Vignon, Inc., no date (circa 1970's). Marquee poster on medium paper measuring 22.5 inches by 17.5 inches featuring provocative illustrations from photographs.
Couple of almost indiscernible short creases, trace edge wear, otherwise near fine.
A visually compelling poster for a production for which we were unable to find any information. The illustrations, however, indicate it was quite erotic. Charlie Chaplin apparently makes a cameo appearance & the attracive young women in the chorus line are adorned in feathers & little else.

A sexy vintage pressbook for the 1952 Italian film released in the United States in 1954: "Refugee Franca Gabre (Eleanora Rossi Drago) comes to the Po Valley with intent to use her obvious attributes and man-swaying talents to gain some security. Oblong quarto (9.5" x 12.25"), 120 pp, profusely illustrated in color & black & white from photographs. Publisher's dark gray cloth lettered in silver, in pictorial dust jacket. Original lithographed poster on cardboard measuring 22 inches by 14 inches promoting the upcoming magic show at Denver, Colorado's City Auditorium. Undated but circa 1949.
Margins & verso toned, slight foxing, trace edge wear, otherwise near fine.
A splendid poster with strong visual appeal which was probably never displayed. Apparently quite an event, the show featured Sir Felix Korim, S. Juhasz Shepard, The Haskells, Prof. Clarence Slyter, & Larry Weeks. Notably, the extravaganza presented "Slicing a Girl Into Sevenths ... out of Egypt for the First Time."

Philadelphia: Cinema Associates/ distributed by Fanfare Films, Inc., 1961. Folio (15" x 10.5"), 4 pages, illustrated, on glossy paper.Folded three times horizontally causing color break, slight edge wear, rubber-stamped "Fanfare Films" on the front cover, otherwise very Good. Characterized by IMDb as Neo Noir, the film revolves around insurance investigator "Duke Wallace" who, "using his special technique with women," is looking into the murder of a colleague.

Original poster on heavy card stock measuring 22 inches by 14 inches promoting the upcoming magic show at "Bluffs Gymn" probably in Junction City, Kansas which was sponsored by the F.F.A. (Future Farmers of America). Undated but circa 1940's. The bottom of the poster is completed in manuscript providing place, time, date, & sponsor. "On the Stage - In Person" is faintly rubber stamped on the verso.
Moderately toned mostly evident in the margins & verso, a bit soiled & foxed, modest edge wear, otherwise very good.
A splendid poster with strong visual appeal. V-Roy Hampton was nicknamed the "Barnum of the Sticks" by magician Walter Gibson.

Thunderbird Country Club, Rancho Mirage, CA. November 3, 1978. Small 4to, single sheet typed, approximately 126 words, on beige watermarked notepaper Boldly signed "Ginger" in blue ink by Miss Rogers. With the original typed, stamped, & canceled matching envelope.
Folded for mailing, slightly soiled, otherwise near fine in neatly opened envelope.
Addressing dancer/ performer Larry Merritt, Miss Rogers provides her upcoming schedule & requests Mr Merritt's reply, noting that she had "tried to get you via telephone, but unfortunately you were never in!"
Ginger Rogers is ranked number 14 on the American Film Institute's list of female stars of classic American cinema.

Original gilt-lettered green cloth. Lacking the dust jacket.Moderate wear at the spine extremities & corners (including a couple of nicks), spine gilt a bit dull, brief gift inscription, light toning & foxing, a good or better copy."Messrs. Small losses at the spine, wraps soiled, modest edge wear, previous owner's signature in ink at the left side of the front cover (possibly A.H. Douglas who sold musical instruments in New Jersey), occasional foxing, last leaf with 1.25 inch tear at the top edge affecting text but without loss, a Good or better copy.
Septimus Winner (1827 – 1905) was an American composer, teacher, performer, & music publisher. He wrote over 200 songs including "Listen to the Mocking Bird" & "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone." Winner also wrote some 200 instruction method books for over twenty-three instruments.
The front cover features a stunning graphic depicting musical instruments. Quite uncommon, OCLC finds 9 copies only as of 10/8/2023 (accession number 14059335).

New York: Wm. Hepner & Co., no date (ca. 1910s). Octavo (9" x 6"), unpaginated [30 pages plus covers], illustrated throughout, with pricing. Original stapled paper wraps. Not found in OCLC although a version with 40 pages is found at Harvard & the University of Chicago (accession # 56572716).Covers & first blank page partially separated, edge wear including small losses & tears, moderately browned, soiled, & occasionally foxed, old short tape repair at one page, otherwise Good & still quite useful. "The name of Hepner requires no introduction to the theatrical profession - Hepner's wigs being known from one end of the country to the other. There are men and women on the stage today who can remember their first Hepner wig of five, ten, or twenty years ago, and they also remember - very probably - that that ws the first time they wore a wig with an entire absence of dissatisfaction."
