This book is about party planning for children. Lots of ideas and "how to". Themes, invitations, decorations, games and activities. "Hundreds of kid-tested ideas make the party possibilities practically endless!" Very Good condition except small tear near top, back spine; Very slight bottom corner wear; small area of black marks on top page edges. Please see photos.

Book - Good condition. Dark green leather cover with black title and image embossed on front cover and black text on spine. There is some edge and corner wear. Orange and white illustrated end papers have a previous owner's name in the "Belongs to" box. Closed book pages have some soiling and the top has a stain at the corner, but it is only visible on the edges of the pages. The pages are age tanned, but free of marks. The binding is very good.
Dust Jacket - Fair condition; however, the spine is missing chips at both top and bottom and near bottom but above publisher. There are some other small chips and tears along the edges and corners. The front DJ flap has a list of "The Bobbsey Twins Books". The back DJ flap has a list "The Honey Bunch Books". The back of the DJ has a list of "The Maida Books".

A story of Aninku and Pepicek. This book is based on a Czech Opera for the same name ("Brundibar" is Czech slang for "Bumblebee"), with a Libretto by Adolf Hoffmeister, set to music by Hans Krasa. Completed in 1938, the opera was performed fifty-five times by the children of Terezin, the Nazi concentration camp. Krasa, who was Jewish, was also imprisoned in Terezin. Book has been thoroughly cleaned, but there were stains on the cover that did not come off. Inside there are a few pages in both the front and back with tiny purple/brown spots. Green cover with black and faded gold gilt image and lettering. No odd smells. Beautiful, colorful end papers. Text is clean and binding is tight. Black & green illustrations throughout the book. 180 pages.

This was apparently a reading textbook in 1947 as it includes a section on Pronouncing Vocabulary, and an Index. From the names of the chapters, I'd gather that the stories are about the Mayflower and the colonial times. Large print. Sepia toned images on inside covers and end papers.
