Descripción:
Foreword by Roger Lewin and photographs by Sally Thompson. Charles Darwin's voyage on the Beagle in 1831 took him to the Galapagos Archipelago and a world in which time had stopped - a variety of animals found no where else in the world and he used his discoveries as the basis for his classic work, Origin of the Species. The Islands remained as isolated and unspoilt but the Government of Peru planned to build an airport on the biggest island prompting the commissioning of photographs and the publication of the book with Darwin's original comments about what he saw. 176 pages with 189 color plates and endpaper illustrations. Book in very good+ condition with previous owners details front endpaper. Dust jacket in very good+ condition in clear wrapper. This is a large book but no increase in postage in Australia.
