Buckingham: Walford, Advertiser Office, 1887 Book. Good. Hardcover. 91, [1] pages + frontispiece, 10 plates and a folding genealogy. In the original red cloth, but this has been damp stained at some point to the lower edge of the front board and this has removed the black lines from around the edges of the board. Old paper label with hand written title on it to the spine. Frontispiece is spotted. Some wrinkling to the lower edges of the pages, but not too noticeable. Finmere in Oxfordshire.

Banbury: Printed for private circulation, 1936 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. [viii], 81 pages + 70 plates, folding family tree + 2 folding plans of premises. The family tree is creased. Spotted on the preliminary pages, the end paper very spotted. In the original cloth with just light wear. With the printed dustjacket, this is worn along the edges, there are creases and small tears along the upper edge and a small tear out of the lower edge also. It too is spotted. Pages are top edge gilt. Printed on thick paper and with many illustrations of their early publications. It also includes a list of the chap books and broadsides published by the company. A heavy volume, extra postage will be required to send it outside the UK..

An ex library book with a bookplate and ink stamp to the front end papers, remains of other labels also. Label removed from rear pastedown. Ink stamp to the rear of the title page and ink numbers at the foot of page 105. Occasional ink underlining. The larger folding plate is creased and lightly browned. The title page and final blank are soiled..

Bound with Dialogue the Second, 1818. 30, [2] pages Dialogue the third, third edition, 1818 32 pages Dialogue the fourth, second edition, 1818 32 pages Dialogue the fifth, 1819 79, [1] pages An appendix to the Oxford Spy, 1818 32 pages. The first, third and fourth dialogues + the Appendix have half title pages. Pages spotted and browned. In the remains of the original binding. Paper covered boards, but the front board is detached. Torn remains of the original printed label to the spine. Spine very damaged and mush of the paper is missing. The rear board is very stained. Ink owner's name to the front free end paper - Carter, Emnl Coll, 1848. Author's name not given on the title pages, but - James Shergold Boone.

Oxford: At the Clarendon Press, 1818 Book. Good. Half-Leather. 2 volume set. Vol 1 - xvii, [i], 583, [1] pages + frontispiece and 3 other plates. Vol 2 - [ii], 526, [172] pages + 6 plates. All but 2 of the plates are folding. In old half leather bindings, some wear mainly to the spine. Pages are lightly browned throughout, some pages are spotted - more so to the first volume. A heavy set, extra postage will be required to send them outside the UK..

Some pages spotted and browned. more so to the rear of the volume. In old full leather covered boards, later respine. Modern lettering label to the spine. Corners bumped and worn. End papers have been replaced in the past, covering an old bookplate of Wm Fermor of Tusmore, this is now uncovered but damaged - this bookplate has another older one beneath it. Ink owner's name, probably 19th century, to the front free end paper. Plate facing page 679 has old tape repaired tears. Pages near plates are more browned..

Oxford: Printed at the Theatre, 1695 Book. Good. Full-Leather. [xvi], 703, [147] pages with 9 plates, 8 of which are double page. ESTC R25441. Pagination skips 553/4 as stated in Upcott, complete. Pages lightly browned throughout. Pages browned to the edges. Some staining and spotting, mainly towards the rear. Final leaf is torn and with a section missing, old paper repairs to this. Plate 7 is folded and there are small tears along the folds. In old full leather covered boards, these have been respined once and then the old respining clearly failed and a more recent leather spine has been inserted. This has a paper label at the head. Corners and edges also reinforced with more modern leather. The old leather seems to have been varnished at some point. There are large folds or ridges of leather at the head and foot of the spine. Modern end papers, browned from contact with the leather. Brief ink note to the margin of page 643..

Banbury: Printed and sold by J.G. Rusher, Bridge Street, 1830 Book. Fair. Soft cover. 18, [2] pages with the original paper covers included in the pagination. Sewn together. Undated, circa 1830? Pages of uneven size as usual. Lists of Rusher's chapbooks to the inner covers. The covers are torn and only just holding on. There is also a small hole in the front cover. Please see the photos..

Paper label removed from the foot of the spine. Some loss of leather to the front board. Ink owner's name to the front free end paper - Rob Wetherell. First title, Kiddington - viii, 71, [1] pages. ESTC T146670. The second title - Great Coxwell is part of the Bibliotheca Topographica Britannica, part XIII - v, [i], 26 pages + 6 plates and 2 folding genealogies. ESTC T79962. The third title is another part of the Bibliotheca Topographica Britannica, this time part XVI - [ii], vi, 162 pages + additional pages: 34*, 43*-45*, 66*-73*, 73*-83* and 81*-92*. as described in the ESTC listing - T79965 - but without the slip to the binder.3 plates bound in The additional sheet for Great Coxwell is bound in with the third title rather than the second. .
