Delhi, Patna and Varanasi: Motilal Banarsidass, 1977. First Edition/Various Printings. Hardcover. Very Good/N/A. Volume 5, Part 1 is a First Edition, others are various early printings. All in green cloth covered with (original?) plastic cover protectors which are worn. Volume 5, Part 1 has small drop to top page ends. And binding is separating at front hinge under endpapers, but still holding - about Good + as a result. Volume 2 has a couple dinged corners - Very Good +. Volume 4 has one dinged corner - Near Fine. Volume 1 has bumps/dings to all corners and scuffing to bottom page ends - Very Good. Please note: May require additional shipping due to size/weight.

""First Published in the USA 1988"" stated. In black boards with gilt to type. Sharp corners, clean interior and solid binding. Jacket has light edgewear and some shallow scratches to rear panel. Illustrated.

Hardcover. Very Good +/N/A. A retelling of the classic tale assumed to be in Icelandic perhaps from the 1940's or 50's. A small stablebound chapbook with charming illustrations in stiff pirctorial boards with red cloth spine tape. Interior pages are tanned with a little moisture stain to bottom corner of first page. Very slim - 16 pages. Minimal wear for the age.

First Editon stated. In red cloth with black type. An ex-library copy with light wear to boards, Paper scars to pastedowns, with stickers, stamps and library pocket to endpapers. Taped tears to ffep. Stamps to page ends and title page. Jacket is unclipped with small chips at spine ends and a few corners. A few short tears, creasing and some sticker scars to bottom of spine. Jacket is unclipped with paper scars to insides of flaps, edgewear and a few chips and a short tear to top edges.

An ex-library copy with fraying/rubbing through cloth at board, corner and spine ends. Tape shadows to tops and bottoms of boards and free endpapers. Library pocket, bookplate, stamps, stickers and stains/marks/scars to endpapers. Number to title page and stamp to copyright page. Stamps incked out to top and bottom page ends. Binding solid. Jacket is unclipped ($4.95), but laminated with wear/rubbing and a few short tears to corners and spine ends, tape residue to tops and bottoms of flaps and a hole in lamination to bottom of spine with a few small scars.

In grey cloth with nice tipped in illustrated panel to front board and title panel to spine. Some moitsure discoloration to bottom of front board, heel of spine and over onto rear board. Clean interior, sharp corners and solid binding. Jacket is unclipped with line through price in pencil and written inwith same below. 2 1/2 inch tear to bottom of rear panel over on to spine with tape on inside. A few short tears to top of front panel, and spine ends.

New York: Anchor Press/Doubleday, 1985. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Light foxing to top edge of pages and a few small nicks bottom of rear panel, one to top and top crease of front flap, else Near Fine in Very Good jacket.

New York: Praeger Publishers, 1975. First US Edition/First Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. True first edition published in 1975, NOT 1968 when it was first published in the UK. A beautiful copy in green cloth with gilt in unclipped jacket ($13.50) with some tanning to flaps.

New York: Garden City Publishing Co., 1932. Reprint Edition. Hardcover. Poor/N/A. A very well worn and stained copy as if book was dropped halfway into a bucket at some point. A fair amount of wear at corners, spine and board ends with some light glue repairs to spine ends. As well, some some minor glue repairs to first few pages to keep pages in as well as several of the color plates which were taped in at one point, though tape disintegrated only leaving some staining. Some plates are split partway up in gutter as a result. Binding is still holding together.

London: Pavilion, 1997. First UK Edition Thus/First Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Inscribed by author. Full number line from 10-1. From the member of Monty Python collecting two of his earlier collections with a hilarious inscription by the author on ffep. In red boards with gilt to type on spine. Light dings to top corners. Jacket is unclipped (12.99 pounds) with nick to top of spine and some edgewear.

Some edgewear overall and a smudge to front cover. Some adhesive discoloration in gutter of first and last few pages due to glue used to attach endpapers to text block. Previous owner's name and address to ffep in pencil. Jacket is unclipped ($3.95)with some small chips and nicks/short tears to spine ends and a few other short tears to bottom of front panel and top of rear. Corners a little worn as well. Tanning/discoloration to spine - Good +. Illustrated by John Lathey.

Sticker to rfep, stamps to front pastedown, ffep and top page ends. Rear hinge split at end of index with mull showing, but still holding. Interior clean. Jacket is unclipped ($17.95) with chip at top of front flap and fading to spine which has two tape shadows and sticker residue/scarring towards bottom of same and 1/2 inch tear. Please note: This book is quite large/heavy and may require additional postage - especially for overseas and expedited orders.

Top page ends tinted red with creasing at som corners. Small linear streaks to bottoms of boards from old jacket protector. Interior clean and binding solid. Price-clipped jacket which is unfaded with edge nicks/short tears, mostly to head of spine and adjacent portion of front panel and bottom of same. Some smudging and toning to rear panel.

No statement of additional printings as is common for this publisher, but low price on jacket ($3.00) - so assumed First Printing. In beige cloth with blue panels to front board and spine and gilt to design motif and type. Bump to bottom rear corner. Page ends sprayed/speckled blue. Some spotting/marks to bottoms of boards. Light toning to pages. Jacket is unclipped with two tears 3/4 inch and one inch to top of front panel and associated creasing in between. Small tape repairs on the inside. Similar to bottom of front panel with 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch tears with creasing and small tape repairs on inside. Small chips to spine ends, corners, top of front panel and bottom of rear.
