Paris: the manufacturer, 1932. Pamphlet. Large singleton leaf of coated alkaline paperstock, 17x21 inches, printed in green and black on gloss white and folded four times to make a 10.5x5.5 inch advertising brochure. A nice copy with mild marginal wear, mild crimpings, and a top-border bend due to careless storage. Has a couple of minute partings at several intersecting foldlines. Bright color, handleable, a pleasant item that shows different models, interiors, mechanism close-ups, mono-structure of basic body the "carcasse"). FYI, the sort of humans shown as driving and riding are all respectable women about, we guess, thirty years of age.

Moscow: Foreign Languages Press, 1959. 155p., 5x8 inches, original blue wraps. Foreword, tables, b&w photos and diagrams (of experimental conveyer belts &c), folding map showing sites, a sound copy with mild cover wear (abrasion to spine, corner-creasing to front corner-tip and adjacent leaves), clean and unmarked within.

Hardcover. xii, 105p., original red cloth binding, ex library with label on front cover, bookplate on free front endpaper, rubberstamps on fore-edge and top and bottom edges of textblock, and due date sheet on free rear endpaper. No dust jacket. Bureau of Industrial Relations, report no. 10.

Sacramento: Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, 1945. Paperback. viii, 35, 281p., softbound, mimeo'd recto-only on standard leaves under professionally-printed 10.5x8 inch cover sheets and a black binder's-tape spine, illustrated with scattered line maps. Cover bears pencilled notes and holograph [ownership?] legend of Paul Willmore of the Bureau, covers a little dusty, within find a couple of mis-folded leaves now spread flat, a good copy. Project Planning Report no. 2-4.0-3.

Los Angeles: Salisbury, Bradshaw & Taylor, 1925. 39p. + large foldout map, numerous site photos, laid in is a typed letter of transmittal from the Western Concrete Pipe Company signed by company secretary J. M. MacAdams, wraps lightly worn else very good in wraps. LA infrastructure such as abutments and old dug-up pipelines. Close-up photos record longevity of "poor" concrete and "sound" concrete in alkaline conditions.

Fort Humphreys VA: The Engineer School, 1928. Staplebound. 53p., b&w line maps and charts and a fine large folded "mining operations" map in colors. Softbound in 9x6 inch stapled textblock in punch-holed plain printed grey wraps, relevant clippings laid in. Mild signs of handling and age, covers are pulling away from textblock but still adhered, good copy.

Albany: C. Van Benthuysen, 1857. Hardcover. NB, this is the "Drawings" part of the commission report, not the report itself. Hardbound in 9.5x5.5 diced brown cloth boards, lettered gilt and panelled in blind, this casing very worn with the cloth lifting away in small areas. Front hinge is still sound but the cover feels at risk with a half-inch chip at the head; rear hinge is strong and clean with two clean blanks. Text consists of numerous line-engraved plates, all of them folding out laterally except for a couple of singleton leaves with presswork on tawny tint-blocks, and the further exception of two folded maps, only one of which is truly large, i.e. the "State of New York"; this latter map is onlaid with three colors that show rail lines that are completed, ones under construction, and those proposed. Several locomotive-types are shown. The "drawings" appear very good, with only a few tiny marginal tears and faint general toning. The casing could probably be restored. Newsletter. various pagination; monthly newsletter on magazine paper; 8.5x11 inches; some toning throughout, edgewear, several issues with pen some pen underlining. Lot includes; vol. 2, No. 5, 8, 10, 11 (1954); vol. 3, no. 1-5 (1955); vol. 4, no. 1-2, 4 (1956); vol. 5, no. 1-2, 12 (1957).

n.p.: n.p., n.d.. Pamphlet. [16p] including covers, 10.75x8 inches oblong, b&w photos of exterior when running, being serviced, interior of cab, table of specifications; the stapled pictorial wraps are toned and silverfished around the margins, with some edgewear. Laid in are seven copies of a hand-out on this engine that summarize specs and offer exemplary photos; find two variants, one captioned "Challenger," the other "Eighty four forty four," photos and text differ slightly. Last of the steamers, and nearly the biggest, it got mothballed (rather than scrapped) when diesel assumed dominion.

Barcelona: Jose Monteso, Editor, 1941. Paperback. 140p., coated paperstock throughout with numerous illustrations --photos, diagrams, line maps (one folded), graphs-- softbound in 7.5x5 inch cardstock covers with pasted-on color-picture wraps. Wraps somewhat edgeworn with abrasion and short splits along spine, half-title toned where touching the cardstock, a clean and generally sound copy.

Barcelona: Estblecimiento [sic] Tipografico de Narciso Ramirez, 1856. Pamphlet. 15p., softbound sewn into plain unprinted yellow wrapper (appears original, as does the fastening thread, 9x6 inches, elaborate title page employing different fonts and a decorative woodcut (1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, shows engine and cars steaming past a township), alkaline paperstock with just a touch of marginal toning and a handful of foxing towards in the terminal leaves. A very good copy.

London: The Communist Party, 1945. 32p., stapled wraps, 4.75x7.25 inches, lightly worn, staple rusted else very good condition.

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, 1966. Pamphlet. 15p., 8.5x11 inches, color maps and illustrations, spinefold split one half inch at top & tail, otherwise good in original stapled pictorial wraps. One of the color maps is unique, an imagined aerial view of the pueblo with number-keys identifying twenty residences and public buildings. This graphic measures 10.5x15 inches and is in good shape.

Milano: Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, 1988. Hardcover. Respectively 136, 186p., profuse b&w site photos and diagrams of several sorts, a few plates in color photography, texts in Italian. Matching bindings: each measures 12x8 inches in white boards gilt with dust jacket. Jacket spine panels are sunned from gloss white to cream, titling unaffected, while books themselves are clean except for a couple of lightly-pencilled dealer's codes. Very good copies, entirely sound and unmarked except as just noted.

London: Design Research Publishing, 2010. Trade Paperback. 77p., wraps, slight wear to edges, top corner of page 19-20 dog-eared else very good condition. "In Industry, Tom Dixon discusses systems of manufacturing and distributing design products. He asks 'what if?' and 'why?' in relation to the established methods of doing things, and sets out a doctrine for Future Industry - a theory based on the changing landscape of industrial manufacture and retail.

New York: Air Reduction Sales Company. Offices in principal cities in the USA, 1940. Pamphlet. 36p., illustrated with numerous simple diagrams and a few photos of workbench equipment. Softbound, an 11x8.5 inch pamphlet in flexible cardstock titled gilt, staple-fastened, presswork on semi-glazed paperstock, slight toning throughout but clean and unmarked, and entirely sound.
