All pages yellowed; very little occasional foxing; some fore-edges are bumped; top edge uncut and therefor unread. Book consists of : v pp; Report 69pp; Minutes of Evidence 158pp; Circular of Questions 84pp; Appendix xcviii pp. This is an example of a " Blue Book of the Cape of Good Hope" and an important work, which came to fruition in only 1910 with Union.. Edges slightly browned; occasional unobtrusive underlining and even more occasional marginal annotations. No ownership marks.

The spine with title and the marbled paper are all new, as is the front fep; the last page was very frittered, now cut neatly and laminated; the front p has been strengthened with plastic; pencil annotations; uniformly tanned but paper is sound. The following attorneys of Pretoria have left their rubber stamped records of ownership : H E W C Barrett; H G Dieperink; signature and address of H A Fransman of Johannesburg. This is an amazing document issued while the guerilla phase of the war was still in progress. Bear in mind that all proclamations would have been first issued and signed by Milner, then sent to London for printing and returned by sea to the Transvaal. Very RARE. Please expect extra overseas postage.

Re-backed with original spine and gold title on skiver ; new endpapers front and rear. Ownership stamps of H E W C Barrett; H C A C Barrett; H G Dieperink, Attorneys in Pretoria and H W Fransman of Johannesburg. All pages only slightly and uniformly yellowed. I can see only limited annotations and underlining in pencil on only 4 pages. The first 20 Proclamations made by Roberts have been either omitted (fallen away) or re-proclaimed at a later date. An interesting and historic document dealing with the period from the fall of Pretoria in the Boer War and covering the time of the Guerilla War. Please expect some extra postage to overseas.
