The original price of 25/-net is still present on the front flap. DJ shows scuffing and soiling, which can mainly be seen on the back. There is a small scrape just below the center on the back of the jacket, which can be felt when you run your finger over it. Olive green cloth boards underneath are clean with the only issue being a small mark that lines up with the scrape on the jacket. The internal binding is good in text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks. The only evidence of handwriting is on the front end page, where you can see that something was penciled in the corner and then later erased. New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1962. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blue cloth boards with yellow text on spine. Exterior is scuffed and worn, edges and corners also show bumps and wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Illustrated end pages and front and rear showing a map up to the North Pole. The front pastedown and the backside of the front end page contains previous owners name and info (P. J. Hartman). Signed by Admiral Donald B. MacMillan and the author, Everett S. Allen, opposite the end page. Pages are mildly toned due to age but pages are clean with only minor handling wear.

BJ shows minor scuffing and soiling along with light edge and corner bumps. Original price of $6.50 is still present on the front flap. Interior binding is good and pages are tight, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates. Only handwriting found in book is on the front end page where there is a small "ooo" written in red pen along the top. Red cloth boards underneath jacket are still clean and bright.

New York: New York University Press, 1973. 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Fine. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details hardcover, multi-shade gray cloth boards with red text on spine. Exterior shows only very minor shelf wear with no issues. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings present. Pages are clean and crisp with no issues. Copyright page states second printing of 1973.

London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1936. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ shows scuffing and toning and has yellowed with age. There is also a dark stain on the back which can be seen on the underside but has not affected the book itself. Edges and corners show chips and bumps/small tears. Black cloth boards underneath show some spotting and fading. There is a small bump at the top edge of the front board and corners are mildly bumped as well. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. The front end page contains a gift inscription and there is also a 1937 letter was found between the covers. The letter is included, even though the only association is that it talks about the book like they know the family. The letter has been placed in a glassine envelope so it will not react with the book paper, and will be included with the book sale.

Hardcover, blue cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows a dampstain on the front outside fore edge. This stain is also present on the front pastedown but does not affect text pages. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues, text pages are tight. Inscribed and signed by the author on the front end page. No other handwriting noted in book, no bookplates or library markings. Pages are toned due to age and some minor spotting and foxing is present.

Philadelphia / New York: Chilton Books, 1966. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+/Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. The original price of $4.95 is still present on the front flap. DJ shows scuffing and spotting, spine is a bit faded, the edges and corners show bumps and small tears. Gray cloth boards underneath the clean with only light toning to the edges, corners are good. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight like book was never read. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, no remainder marks. Text pages are clean and bright but the end pages show some spotting and foxing caused by the dust jacket. The copyright page states first edition.

New York: D. & J. Sadlier, 1866. Hardcover. Good-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original binding of brown cloth, blind stamped on all sides with gilt on spine. But exterior shows moderate to heavy edge and corner wear and rear board has stain. Previous owner's name signed on front pastedown and front end page has some numbers written in the lower corner. Pages are heavily toned and foxed. Hinges are split at both front and rear boards. No torn or loose pages noted the last end page has its corner folded.

New York: George H. Doran Company, 1924. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Red cloth boards black design on front, black text on spine. No handwriting or bookplates noted, no torn or loose pages. Some foxing and spotting is present, mainly to end pages. There's a few smudge is on the spine with his book is still a strong VG condition. See photos.

New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1899. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows minor soiling from handling, edges and corners show bumps/wear. The internal binding has some issues which is the only reason for the low condition grade. The front hinge has a thin crack in the rear hinge got a larger ugly cracked that shows the webbing. There is also a thin line opening at page 336/337 and 174/175. The tissue guard on the frontispiece is still present and attached in the second portrait and page 246 is present. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The only evidence of handwriting found is on the front end page we could just make out where a price was once penciled in the corner. The lower outside corner of the pages also show light creasing from a corner bump. Once the hinges are repaired one board have a strong VG condition book.

New York: Walter Neale, 1928. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket. First edition thus. Red cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Corners bumped and page edges show spotting and there is a mark on the back board, center upper edge. Large gift inscription from the author on the front end page where he is thanking a Mr. Fred High of Waynesburg, PA, for all the articles Mr. High wrote for the Waynesburg Republican Newspaper - so the author gave Mr. High this book as a Christmas present. Mr. High's bookplate is on the front pastedown which also describes this. Binding is good, no torn or loose pages, no notes or underlining. Very small to amp stain at top spine corner of pastedown and inscription page. See photos.

New York: Paine and Burgess, 1845. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Poor. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blind stamped brown cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Exterior shows chipping along edges and corners and spine is splitting along the top rear board section as shown in the picture. Interior pages are toned due to age and foxing is present throughout, with pages like the title page being severe. Previous owners name lightly written in pencil on the front end page. Note: the rear free and page is missing. Also, quadrant of pages 123-142 are only attached by the bottom string and not the upper string section. Stated second edition on the title page.

Albany, NY: Weed, Parsons & Company, 1892. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, dark brown cloth boards with gilt on spine. Tile on spine simply a reads Autobiography and the author's last name. Exterior shows minor edge and corner wear, boards are spotted with a light stain at bottom of spine and bottom of the rear board. Pale aqua end pages and front and rear are free and clear of any signatures or bookplates. Pages are toned due to age and some minor foxing is present but binding is tight, no hinge issues noted.

New York: The Business Bourse, 1933. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ has quite a bit of chipping and tearing as well as soiling and several pieces are missing. Red cloth boards underneath show little wear as the jacket took the brunt of handling. Inscribed and signed by the author: " To Dr. George Washburn from Marjorie Knowlton Snively". No other handwriting found in book, no bookplates present. Binding is good end pages are tight, no hinge issues. Dust jacket has been placed in protective sleeve after the photos were taken.

Hardcover, volume 1 only of a two-volume set, Edition de Luxe series from the Grolier Society and limited to 1000 copies for England and America, of which this is number 114. Gray cloth boards show scuffing and soiling/toning is present. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. There is some light spotting and foxing present, although this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. Please note: this is volume 1 only.

Hardcover, volume 1 and 2 matched set, Edition de Luxe series from the Grolier Society and limited to 1000 copies for England and America, of which these are both number 114. Gray cloth boards are spotted with volume 2 front board showing a large area of loss to the finish, presumably from moisture. This is the reason for the lower condition grade. The interior binding of both books are the same: no hinge at boards and text pages are tight. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings no handwriting found. It is apparent the books were never read as both volumes have numerous quadrants of pages that are still uncut, mainly on the long edge. There is some spotting and foxing present, though this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. No publication date listed (ca 1900). Unread condition, binding tight end pages are bright. No handwriting or bookplates. First edition thus. Half title page had original store price penciled in corner which was erased but there's still a very faint shadows of the price. Dust jacket price unclipped. No remainder marks. See photos.

Springfield, IL: Charles C. Thomas, 1972. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-/VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ shows scuffing and soiling with several faint creases in the lower outside corner areas. Brown cloth boards underneath are overall clean with only minor spotting. The reason for the lower condition grade of an otherwise near fine book is because is a large corner bump of several inches in the lower outside corner of the front board. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no bookplates, no library markings, no signatures. The only handwriting found in the book is at the top of the front end page where there is the letter C written in pen. There is also to areas of spotting in the front board gutter area, this likely has something to do with the binding process since they are of equal distance from the top and bottom edges. Tierce, 1980. Soft cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Softcover, exterior wraps show thin creases along with toning/soiling. Edges and corners are softened/bumped and there is a small tear at the hinge area front cover, lower left, which measures just over one half of an inch. The internal binding is good pages are tight. The front hinge area opens farther than the rear wrap but that is the only binding issue found. There are a few smudge marks on the front and rear end pages remaining pages are clean. Inscribed in French and signed by Berthe Cleyrergue on the title page. No other handwriting found, no bookplates, no library markings.

New York: The Beta Publishing Co., 1914. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original 1914 publication bound in red cloth boards with gilt to front and spine. Exterior shows some spotting and soiling along with light edge and corner bumps/wear. Spine is darkened and also show spots. The interior binding of the text pages is good, book would normally grade as VG+ or better but the hinge at the rear board has an opening near the top which measures about an inch in length. Because of this we lower the condition grade down to just VG. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings, no handwriting found except for a very faint possible 1/2 inch pen or pencil mark located on the bottom exterior page edge.
