Summary

A few of the top edge pages have been carelessly opened. The cover to Volume II, which is in paperback but with a plasticized coating, has a small blemish where a sticker was removed. The books are in very good condition, attractively bound with red and black lettering on the covers. The volumes are Bianquis's thesis from the Sorbonne. Bianquis was a noted scholar on Islam. Alfons Gabriel (1894–1976) was an Austrian geographer, explorer and travel writer who made several trips to the deserts of Iran, during 1927–8, 1933, and 1937. Gabriel wrote five books about his trips and findings. His book Durch Persiens Wüsten (1935) is translated into Persian.
