In Dallas, Texas, Highland Park and University Park are towns separate from Dallas even though they are right in the middle. These are the Park Cities. When they were formed, they were way out yonder. Dallas didn't want to annex them because they were too far out. Now they're some of the wealthiest towns in America. Southern Methodist University is there. Highland Park Shopping Center is one of America's oldest concept centers and it's really pretty. This book is full of archival photographs of the Park Cities (or, The Bubble, as it is affectionately, or derogatorily, referred, depending on your point of view). If you live there, you got to have this book. The book is near fine condition with only very slight shelf wear. The pages are clean and unmarked. A first edition copy from 1989.

This 3rd history in the series deals with Dallas after WW II. The first book, from 1986, is about Dallas families, institutions, businesses, etc. from before 1890. The second is about Dallas from 1920, published in 1994. These books were published by the Dallas County Pioneer Association, founded 1875. A lot of stories, facts and archival photos. If you live in Dallas, you need to read this. The first free end paper has the personal embossed seal of the previous owner. This is a feature because it is from the library of Dava Beisecker Ladymon, who was a lifelong student of genealogy and local North Texas History. She was in every historical organization imaginable, and she played the guitar. Being able to buy books from her library was one of the top 3 highlights of my 30+ years of book collecting. She passed away earlier this year. RIP. The book is in fine, like new condition.

History of Dallas, Texas with biographies of early settlers and archival photographs. The book has 2 spots of damage on the bottom of the front end papers, maybe old bug damage (if so, the bugs are long gone). Otherwise, the book is in like new condition. Attractive binding, no title on spine. Laid in is a membership roster and history for 1988-89.

Fine/near fine. First Edition, second printing. Biography of the late rock/blues guitarist from the Oak Cliff section of Dallas, Texas. There's a sculpture dedicated to he and his brother, Jimmie at Kiest Park in Dallas. Book is in fine condition. Jacket has only slight shelf wear and is near fine. Corners are square and the pages are clean and unmarked.

Architect Santiago Calatrava's initial concept for the Dallas Trinity River Bridges. Published by the City of Dallas to promote the expenditure of city funds for the project. Lots of reproductions of drawings. 45 page, spiral bound softcover with plastic cover. The plastic cover has yellowed, otherwise the book is excellent.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical School was founded in Dallas, Texas in 1943, adjacent to Parkland Memorial Hospital. This book commemorates its 50th year in 1993. The book is 352 pages and approximately 10 x 12 inches. Beautifully bound with a large gilt seal of the school on the cover. Listed as fine, like new condition.
