Hardcover, light blue cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. First edition, limited 300 copies of which this is copy number 9. Decorated end pages showing the countryside. Front and read pastedown pages have some light dampstaining along the top and side edges, front end page shows a spot in the very bottom right corner and has a bookplate for Harriett F. Satterfield. Pages are toned due to age. Binding is good, no hinge cracks, no torn or loose pages.

New York: The Ark, 1980. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+/Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ shows toning and light soiling along with edge and corner bumps along with small tears. Gray cloth boards underneath are clean with only very light scuffing and minor corner bumps. The back of the last page states that only 1200 copies were printed by the Haymaker Press. The internal binding is good and text pages are very tight like the book was never read. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings, no handwriting, no remainder marks etc.

Privately Printed , 1940. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, aqua blue cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows some spotting and soiling, spine is darkened. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and some minor spotting/spotting is present. There is what appears to be a dampstain present on the top exterior page textblock. This is the side that is dyed red. This may have also been caused when the book was created as the red dye can just barely be seen on the top edge of most of the pages. This is a limited edition, limited to 400 copies of which this is number 18. No signatures or bookplates present, no handwriting, no library markings found.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1929. Limited Edition . Hardcover. VG-/Poor. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket, first edition limited-edition of 2000 copies, of which this is number 1467. DJ is heavily worn and has numerous chips and tears, some of them rather extensive. The underside of the jacket was neatly reinforced along the top, bottom and flap folds - probably because the dust jacket was falling apart. Over the decades the tape has become dry and brittle and has darkened both the exterior of the dust jacket as well as the interior pastedowns. Brown cloth boards underneath show fading along the edges along with corner bumping. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. The dust jacket does have some penciled pricing on the front flap. The book was actually never fully read by anyone as many sections of pages, starting around page 189, are still uncut… Leer más

New York: Privately Printed, 1936. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Fair-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover that still has the original glassine dust jacket. This glassine covering was never meant to be a permanent addition to the book, yet it has stayed in place and protected the exterior since the book was new. DJ is in rough shape numerous chips and tears, maroon cloth boards are clean and the only issues being some discoloring along the edges and some light scuffing. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, nothing torn or loose. Text pages are clean although the end pages and pastedowns do show some spotting and foxing.

London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1895. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Poor. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, gray paper cover boards with tan paper to spine. Paper on spines cracked on front and rear as well as cracking and chipping in several areas on the spine. Front board is only hanging on by a thread as it broke loose while we were writing this description. Internal hinges are also cracked at boards and binding is brittle, though text pages are tight. This is one of the rare editions which is printed on Japan paper and limited to 100 copies, of which this is number 60 and signed by T. Fisher Unwin. Only other handwriting found in book is at the top of the front end page which has a date and initials written in what appears to be pencil. End pages are quite foxed. Franklin Center, PA: The Franklin Library, 1974. Limited Edition . Hardcover. VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Charles Edmund Brock. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, full leather binding ornately decorated in gilt, banded spine. Exterior shows wear and bumps to the leather along edges and corners. All exterior page edges are gilt and ribbon bookmark is still present and attached. The exterior issues is likely due to shelf wear as the internal binding is tight like a book that has never been read. Decorated cloth end pages in front and rear show no bookplates or signatures, no handwriting found anywhere in the book, no library markings. The page after the half title page reads: "This limited edition of Gulliver's Travels is published exclusively for subscribers to The Franklin Library collection The 100 Greatest Books of All Time". The exterior grades as VG but the interior grades as a strong fine condition.

Philadelphia, PA: Privately Printed by the Kynett Family, 1936. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with original slipcase. Case is intact though edges are toned and some small chips/splits are present at the opening side. Light blue paper covered boards with dark blue cloth the spine. Book is also lightly toned along edges but shows very little use. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings present. Only issue with the book is at the bottom of the front board with are just a bit of rubbing, showing some dark blue. Book grades as VG+ in a VG- slipcase.

Wilmington, DE: University of Delaware Press, 1960. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with slipcase. Limited edition of 1000 copies of which this is number 819. Slipcase shows wear and light soiling, backside of slipcase is a bit crushed but all seams are intact. Red and tan cloth boards are clean and corners are sharp. Internal binding is good and text pages are very tight like book was never read. There is some foxing and soiling on the end pages and pastedowns remaining pages are clean. No signatures or bookplates present. Book grades as near fine in a VG- slipcase.

Boston, MA: Estes and Lauriat, 1893. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcovers, two-volume match set of the International Limited Edition, limited to one thousand copies - both books being number192. Blue cloth boards with paper labels on spine, labels are tanned and worn with numerous pieces missing. Volume 1 is the worst out of the two as board show some dampstains interior pages has some ripple to them top. Volume 2 is in much better shape with no issues to point out. Volume 1 also has a few dozen pages with underlining and paragraph marking. Most of this is done in pencil though a couple pages appear to have been done in black ink. Both front pastedowns contain the personal bookplate of Louis Manheim. Volume 1 (404 pp.) is graded at fair+ and volume 2 (429 pp.) is graded as VG-. Overall set condition grade is good. London: Sampson Low, Marston, & Company Limited, 1893. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, yellow cloth boards decorated in gilt on all sides. Exterior shows soiling, edges and corners are bumped/softened and there's a couple of small tears to the cloth near the top of the spine. Rear board shows bubbles under cloth along bottom edge and near spine. Interior binding is good, no hinge issues as it appears book was never read since most of the page quadrants are still uncut along the top edges. End pages and pastedowns for moderate to heavy foxing, this issue is limited mainly to these pages as text pages are clean except for some dust darkening along the top edges. Limited edition of 150 copies on large paper and signed by the author, of which this is copy number 32. No other handwriting noted, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings present.

New York: Merrill & Baker, 1900. Limited Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcovers, two-volume matched set, limited to 1000 copies "Edition de Grand luxe" of which these are number 607 paper label on spine. Exterior shows some scuffing and soiling, spine is darkened, light wear to edges and corners. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues in either book other than some pulling in spots. Both copies have a bookplate on the front pastedown, showing this book belongs to Carlton Strong. The last end page in both books also have another plate with information on when he purchased the books. Carlton Strong was a prominent architect and lived in the Pittsburgh area. The only other markings found in the book is on the title pages, where there is an embossed seal in the lower outside corners. Philadelphia, PA: Printed for the Society, 1907. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, limited addition of 475 copies of which this is number 322. Green cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Exterior shows spotting and some soiling, spine is faded due to sunning. Internal binding is good at boards and text pages are tight for the most part, though there is a thin line of webbing showing at page 145. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings present. Pages are toned due to age and minor foxing is noted.

Boston, MA: Dana Estes & Company, 1902. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Two volume matched set bound in blue cloth with paper label on spine and limited to 1000 copies, of which these are both numbered 183. Cloth is spotted and soiled with loss to the finish, paper labels are darkened and foxed. The internal binding of the text portion of both books is good but the hinge is about 50% cracked at the front board on volume 2. Both volumes are ex-library with the front pastedowns containing a bookplate stating this book came from the bookshelves of J. Kirk Bosler and came from the J. Herman Bosler Memorial Library (Carlisle, PA). The rear pastedowns on both books are stamped "discarded" and show damage to the finish of the pastedown paper from where the library card pockets were removed. No other markings noted. Washington, PA: Printed for the College Class by its Surviving Members, 1911. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos per condition details. Hardcover, Limited Souvenir Edition of 250 copies, numbered and autographed by the author, of which this is number 226. Red cloth boards half bound with black to corners and spine. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. There is a set of numbers penned at the bottom of the spine though there are no other library style marks other than this. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages or tone due to age and there is spotting and foxing present. The front pastedown contains a bookplate with the name removed and there are a dozen or so pages with lightly penciled notes and marks which should be able to be erased if desired. The limited-edition page also has a gift inscription written in pencil stating the book was given to a relative of someone presumably listed in the book.

Providence, RI: Privately Printed, 1935. Hardcover. VG-. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Hardcover. Special limited edition printed and bound for Eugene A. Clauss in December of 1935, of which this is copy number 47. This is a thin book, comprised of only four pages not including the title and frontispiece. Bound with string in three places along spine. There is a bit of pulling in the hinge area because of this with front board starting to crack at the bottom of the hinge area. Faint evidence of penciled price on front end page, upper corner, that was erased. Pages are clean, no handwriting or bookplates. See photos.

Case is intact though edges are toned and some moderate chips/splits are present at the opening side and opposite edge has some bubbling and lifting of the paper near the bottom edge. Pink paper covered boards with maroon cloth to spine. Front pastedown has a thin wrinkle running horizontal the center which appears to be a byproduct of the original binding process. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings present. Book grades as Near Fine in a G- slipcase.

Wilmington, DE: The Cedar Tree Press, Inc., 1993. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, signed limited edition of 1000 copies, of which this is #147. The book would normally grade as near fine to fine condition but there is a thin scratch on the front board which runs from the left side gilt house and over to the lower right side edge. The rear board is fine and so are the corners and edges. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The book feels like it was never read. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks, no other handwriting other than that from the author. Pages are clean without issues.

Chicago, IL: Frank M. Morris, 1923. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Norman Lindsay. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, signed by the author in hand numbered, this is number 173 of 600 copies. Decorative boards with black cloth and gilt to spine. Exterior shows edge and corner wear corners rounded, spine shows spotting and fading. The interior binding of the text portion is good though hinges are cracked at both front and rear boards with the rear being somewhat shaky. Pages are toned due to age and there is a yellow stain at the lower outside corner, though this is limited to the outside portion of the pages and never reaches the text area. There is also a smaller stain present in the upper outside corner which can be seen on the title page - this issue only continues in to about page 6. Limited edition of 1000 copies of which this is number 130, as stated on last text page. The original price of $5.95 is still present on the front flap. DJ is quite tattered with a large tear on the spine area along with numerous creases, chips, and spots. Black cloth boards underneath show only minor spotting and soiling along with light corner bumps. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The only handwriting noted was four small red "x" marks on top edge of first free end page.
