A fascinating examination about the history and context of prophecy and prediction. A very nice copy. Pages are very clean and bright. Residue of an old pencil mark on FEP, some scattered minimal age wear to fore edges . No inscriptions. Boards are clean and spine is tight. DJ is unclipped, very complete with no apparent nicks, just a little browning on rear base and some general age wear and rubbing. Overall a very nice copy. Famous writer and investigator of the unusual, Peter Underwood, has compiled an excellent dictionary of all matters supernatural. A huge range of topics are well covered, including demonology, ESP, the occult, Crowley, runes, lycanthropy and many many more. A lovely copy. Pages are bright, clean, unmarked and with no foxing. DJ is unclipped, with no real wear at all except the most minor which you might expect with age. Boards are clean and tight, spine is as new. An excellent copy - please see photos. Copper was a well known writer on the supernatural, as well as a range of fiction genres. Here he turns his attention the the Werewolf, and deals eloquently with the myths, history and artistic embellishment in the world of lycanthropy. A really interesting read. Book is ex-library but in fact in very good condition. See all photos. Pages are bright clean and unfoxed. Existing library residue comprises: marks on FEP where a sticker or card has been removed; a rectangular couple of ex-library stamps and a neat ex-libris stamp on the page with publication information; a small stamp on the bottom edges of the book, and a small stamp on the final index page - all of these are in the photos. Apart from this, all other pages are excellent. DJ is in a remarkably good state: unclipped, and with hardly any noticeable wear except minor rubbing and perhaps a little tanning to rear. A very nice copy of Armstrong's classic work on the folklore of birds. An in depth study ably supported by a range of drawings and photographs. This is the first US edition. See all photos, all of which are of this edition for sale. Pages are clean with no inscriptions or staining, just natural reading wear and the lightest of spotting at the top edge (see photos). Cloth boards are clean, tight and intact. DJ is unclipped ( a small sticker has been placed over the original price, potentially removable) and is generally very good: some age wear at edges, some brown spotting (mainly at rear) and a little rubbing. Someone has written 'plate 5' on one of the cover images, though this is not as visible as it could be (again, see photos).
