Signed. First Edition. Very Good + / good. The late Justin Kimball was an important figure in Dallas history; they named a high school after him. Story about the growth of Dallas. The book has minor rubs at the corners and the pages are evenly toned throughout. The corners are square and the pages are unmarked. The binding is tight and the pages won't stay open. The dust jacket is is chipped and worn all around. There are minor tears and paper loss, but it's in one piece. Listed as good. Justin Kimball has signed, under his photograph, on page vi, after the title page (no inscription).

History of Dallas, Texas and a roundup of contemporary progress. Features include Education, Arts, Business, Energy, Architecture and just about everything else. A big heavy book, 336 pages. I'm calling this a first edition because the front free end page has the name of Jerry Farrington printed on it. The late Jerry Farrington was a tireless civic volunteer who was on the board of everything imaginable at one time or another. I'm sure he was involved with the United Way, which is the sponsor of this book. The book is also inscribed to Farrington and signed by the author. The book is in near fine condition with only a bump on the top back corner. The dust jacket has several small tears at the spine, front and back. The Jacket is listed as very good-.

Signed. First Edition. Lewis Bedford was appointed Municipal Judge, in Dallas, in 1966. He thrived in the face of adversity as a black city official. In the process of this biography, the author examines behind the scenes civil rights issues in Dallas through most of the 20th century. The book and jacket are in fine, like new condition. The book is inscribed to Joe Atkins, another trailblazer, who sued North Texas College for admission as a black student, in 1955. Joe Atkins signature is on the front free end page. The author has inscribed, dated and signed on the half title page.

Dust jacket has a half inch tear at the top front, a wrinkle at the top spine and edge wear at the top corners. Sarah was one of the builders of Dallas after she moved there is 1844. She built everything and was the city's first millionaire. The late Vivian Castleberry was a Dallas historian and prolific writer. The author has dated, inscribed and signed on the front free end page.

Baker was also a founder of the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing Arts in Dallas. Book has a slight discoloration on the very bottom edge of the cover, otherwise excellent. The dust jacket has slight shelf wear on the front cover, but no wrinkles or edgewear. Paul Baker has signed on the front free end page (no inscription).

Signed. First Edition. History of North Texas State University. Originally Texas Normal College, now the University of North Texas. The book is inscribed to Joe Atkins, by the President of the University. The President, Norval Pohl, gives a lengthy inscription about Mr. Atkins significance to the school. Mr Atkins sued the College for admission in 1955 after they had denied him because of his race. The book discusses Mr. Atkins on pages 340 - 343. Atkins was the recipient of the Equity and Diversity Award. Later he was awarded an honorary Doctorate by the University. After Atkins won his court case against the school, 7 other Texas colleges desegregated. The book and jacket are in near fine condition with only very minor shelf wear. President Pohl has inscribed, dated and signed on the front free fly leaf.

Author Perutz is a research associate professor in the Dept. of Anthropology at SMU. The book is in fine, like new condition. The author has signed on the title page (no personalized inscription).

Listed as near fine. There is an inscription to Francis (Blatt), a friend and neighbor, and purchased from the Blatt estate. The author has inscribed, dated and signed on the front free end page.
