Collection "Charme de la France". 70 b&w photos of the town, the abbey and 11th century basilica, with details of stone carvings, by Roubier, French photographer who made photos for more than 100 books on art and architecture. Thick magazine format (8-7/8" x 11-1/2", ~22.5 x 29 cm), self-wraps soiled, wraps/end papers/pages age-toned, wraps torn and reglued along binding with 2" loss at top and smaller at heel. Pages unmarked, smudges and one ink mark on back cover where other books in the series are listed.

Tour of the mediaeval art museum in Fort Tryon Park, Manhattan, constituted from components of European monasteries and housing the Unicorn Tapestries, Robert Campin's Annunciation (c. 1425), sculptures and artifacts; illustrated throughout with color photographs (plates and cuts) and diagrams of each room. 7-1/4" x 9-1/4", printed on glossy stock, very light shelf wear, touch of foxing to end papers, pages unmarked. Bonus with this copy is a laid-in clipping (folded in tissue paper to prevent staining the book) of a 1978 TLS review by Geoffrey Grigson of Margaret B. Freeman's book on the Unicorn Tapestries.

BILINGUAL EDITION ENGLISH-POLISH. 157 pages, of which ~60 are text - introduction and discussion first in Polish, then in English; followed by 95 pages of b&w photos by various photographers, including 70 pages of dramatic before-and-after photos of locations in Poland's demolished capital. Introduction by Polish journalist (and later non-Communist MP) Karol Malcuzynski. Includes table of population and employment restoration and facilities rebuilt in 1945-60, plus plans for 1965. Small square book (~6-1/2" square), gray cloth with age toning, darker gray printed lettering, end papers printed with layout map of Warsaw, cocked, minimal shelf wear, edges and page margins age-toned, paperclip stain to Polish title page. DJ is moderately soiled and heavily worn, with 3/4" chip at heel, smaller chips elsewhere, clear-tape repair along spine where it had disintegrated. Pages unmarked.
