Selmar Hess, NY, 1892, apparent 1st ed. Two volumes 4to (12") in gold stamped and embossed green cloth. Free endpaper in each vol. is scored along a fold and could eventually come loose. Corners on Vol. 2 are beginning to fray. both vol.s are rubbed along hinges and edges of covers. Bottom of hinge on Vol. 2 frayed. Nevertheless, this is a very handsome set. Gold is still bright , for the most part. Gilt edges. Also many full page plates of famous art works. NOTE: GERMAN TEXT.. F. Hardcover.
