Merrill & Baker, New York 10.5" X 7.25" in light brown cloth with leather spine and corners. The corners are a bit rubbed and the cloth has a bit of a mottled appearance; SMALL stain front cover, and another on back cover: VERY GOOD or better condition. There is no date on this book, but it appears to be late 19th century. It is over 100 years old and has a few very minor cosmetic issues, but overall, this is a very nice book. There is a little light foxing on some pages. All edges and the endpapers are marbled; the fancy gilt spine design and lettering are still bright. The pages are still clean and crisp and the binding is tight. Moreover, there are 12 CHROMOLITHOGRAPHS of birds as well as numerous engraved illustrations. 583pp [AB160]. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Hundreds of years ago, these animals might have been commonplace, but now, farmers have moved on to different stock.
