First leaf separated by the staple and the verso printed upside down, else near fine. Report of a group of soldiers who were selected by their squadrons to visit the thought by some to be exaggerated state of Dachau and bring back first hand information and reports. This they did in detail both graphic and though terse, also profound. The report signed in type by those who made the trip: Sgt. Adam H. Neetzer, S/Sgt. Bernard Dansereau, Cpl. Jhn Pandolfo, Sgt. Taylor was an African-American historian at Fisk University, who graduated from Michigan, and earned his Masters and Doctorate from Harvard.

Small pencil owner signature front pastedown, Soem rubbing on the spine and the paper rubbed down on the corners, still a handsome and sound very good copy. An interesting and in some sense iconic book in the Woman Suffrage Movement. Advertised in the March 21, 1891 "Publishers' Weekly" as the first of a new series of "Speakers" - compilations of poetry and prose to be read in public, the book was the product of a reconciliation that was a long time coming within the Movement. In 1869, in a rift caused by disagreements over the issue of African-American male suffrage two competing groups were organized: the American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA) and the National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA)Susan B. The earliest volume, numbered by the company as "Book No. 902", dated 1940-1941, is 11 leaves with mounted fabric samples on the rectos of every page and the versos of about half. All samples presents, small wear and tears, very good or better. The second volume, "Book No. 919" is undated and lacks the (likely unprinted) rear wrap. It consists of 28 leaves with all with mounted fabric samples on each side of every page. All samples are present, small wear and tears, very good or better. A splendid array of early 1940s furniture fabrics.

[Washignton, D.C.: NANBPWC, Inc, 1963. Unbound. Very Good. Hardwood (Walnut?) base with marquetry inlay, 9" x 11" with engraved brass plaque 5.75" x 8" affixed with brass screws. Hanging hook on verso. Considerable scratching on the brass, about very good. The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. was founded in 1935, with national headquarters in Washington, D.C. Florence Allen Holmes was the sixth National President of the organization.

(Millersville, Pennsylvania, 1871. Hardcover. Very Good. Octavo. Commercial autograph album. Black pebble-grain leather with "Autographs" on front board. Three amateur but effective early repairs at the spine, front fly near detached, rubbed, else very good. Calligraphic illustration of a dove incorporating George W. Singiser's name, although most of the leaves are unused, approximately 35 pages have been signed with sentiments, home locations, or other information, all, seemingly part of the Class of 1871 of the Penn State Normal School (now Millersville University) a teachers' college. Perhaps a bit more than half of the signers are woman. Most of the signers are from the middle part of Pennsylvania.

Front page illustrated with a Seuss drawing of a slightly insane looking elephant and donkey peering over the shoulder of a confused voter. Near fine. The contents consist of Maryland and Electoral College statistics for previous elections. Seuss was a supporter of FDR, but this seems not to have a direct partisan bent. An early Suess contribution. Not in *OCLC*; not in Younger and Hirsch, *First Editions of Dr. Seuss Books*.

Light tape remnant or shadow on front wrap, very good. Laid in is a promotional letter from the producers, The Playwrights' Producing Company, lauding the play, whether it was intended for the *Study Guide* is not obvious. Guide to the Pulitzer Prize-winning play that featured Raymond Massey as Lincoln. He reprised the role in the 1940 John Cromwell-directed film with Ruth Gordon as Mary Todd Lincoln.

Four large production pieces from the C.E. Ward Company from their January, 1969 "Costumes and Supplies" catalog (which is part of the archive). Of the 20 total pieces, 16 of which are catalogs, seven of them are from the C.E. Ward Company in New London, Ohio. Each of the catalogs are illustrated throughout with mostly B/W line illustrations, but a few are in color and at least one contains fabric swatches. The pieces run from 1907 to about 1975. *OCLC* locates no copies of any of the catalogs represented here.

The Black Family Festival at UC Davis was launched by the Black Student Union in 1971 (then known as Black Family Day). The website for the event notes that all forms of blackness are represented: "Every year marks a monumental step towards Black empowerment and strengthening of our community and families. The family reflects the resilience, diversity, and openness of black culture." A striking poster not appearing in commerce, auction, or *OCLC.* .

Presentation Copy with printed label stating "This Book Has Been Presented To B. Jones" and Signed the author "Rev. John E. Williams." Below is a small ownership sticker from a Chicago address. According to the biography in the opening pages, this is Williams's fifth book. Williams, born in Sandflat, Texas, in 1926, writes that without God "we will have no law and order, no morality, no conscience, no nothing. This is happening so America is doomed." What follows is a reflective essay on violence, God, and peace in the wake of King's death and funeral (the text points to this being written in the days after the funeral, as he gives intimate details of people and events in Atlanta for the funeral).
