Group of newsletters and pamphlets from the Trotskyist group, generally issued under the title Suparutashisuto スパルタシスト, a Japanese transliteration of "Spartacist." Includes a series of local reprints of articles from Workers Vanguard translated into Japanese (nos. 1-33, missing 9, with 4/5 a double issue), a 1982 booklet presenting a statement of principles, pamphlets in various formats and sizes from the next two decades, and, not counted but thrown into the mix, a handful of leaflets including one on Mumia. Serials are generally a bit smaller than 8.5x11 inches, but pamphlet size varies, generally very good condition.

Includes a secretary's report for activities up to November 1947. The Institute (later Association) was founded and led by M.N. Roy, a prominent Indian revolutionary, whose international adventures included working to found the Mexican Communist Party and the Communist Party of India (Tashkent Group). He was a delegate to the Communist International, expelled in 1929. After WWII he advocated a new philosophy expounded in his 1947 manifesto, New Humanism. This pamphlet states, "Spiritual freedom, the individual becoming conscious of his dignity and sovereignty, is the greatest freedom.
