Jean-Pierre Boudet (1748-1828) was a French pharmacist. Both men assisted Napoleon's campaign in Egypt. In Very Good Condition: upper edge slightly darkened; closed 2-cm. tear from gutter; clean and bright. Scarce.

No publication information; L'Imprimerie de Rignoux printed publications of Académie Royale de Médecine and Chaptal died in 1832. Disbound from a collection of pamphlets owned by French homeopath Dr. Charles Ravel (1822-1887). The author, Étienne Pariset (1770-1847), was a French physician who founded the Société Protectrice des Animaux and was a doctor at the Salpêtrière Hospital, where he was the physician for the insane. Jean Antoine Chaptal (1756-1832) was a French chemist, physician, educator, and stateman, who served as Minister of Internal Affairs from 1800 to 1804. In Very Good Condition: title page slightly foxed and darkened; "92" written on title page and Chaptal is underlined, both in ink; otherwise, clean. Scarce.

Antoine-Athanase Royer-Collard (1768-1825) was the French doctor who served as head physician at the Charenton mental asylum, where one of his patients was the Marquis de Sade, who spent the last 11 years of his life there. Royer-Collard was also a professor of forensic medicine at the University of Paris, where in 1819 he became the first chair of "médecine mentale." He was elected to the Académie Royale de Médecine in 1820. The author, Adrien Jacques de Lens (1786-1846), was a botanist and doctor; he served as Inspecteur Général des Études pour l'Enseignement Supérieur de la Médecine from 1824 to 1830. Louis Augustin Guillaume Bosc (1759-1828) was a French botanist, entomologist, and zoologist. The author, Louis René Villermé (1782-1863), was a French physician and economist, who helped to established the fields of epidemiology and occupational medicine. Destouet (1793?-1826) translated De Sedibus et Causis Morborum by Giovanni Battista Morgagni (1682-1771), earning the gratitude of the French medical profession. Marie Alexandre Desormeaux (1778-1830) was a French physician, professor of medicine, and inventor, and the father of Antonin Jean Desormeaux, also a physician and inventor. Edme-Joachim Bourdois de La Motte (1754-1835) was a French physician who became the chief doctor of the Army of the Alps in 1794. He was named chief doctor of epidemics for the Seine Department in 1805 and was one of the early members of the Royal Academy of Medicine. Black cloth over boards. Lacking original half title, which was supplied (probably at the time of the modern binding) by a facsimile of a half title bearing an inscription. Title page bears two circular stamps of the Norwich & Norfolk United Medical Book Society, and "ANd43" in ink in the upper corner. The Norwich & Norfolk United Medical Book Society was founded prior to 1826, when a catalog of its library was published. The library was dispersed some time after 1955. In the Conclusion (p. 241-255) Osborn disagrees vehemently with Alexander Hamilton's remarks on Caesarian operations in his Outlines of the Theory and Practice of Midwifery.
