Dj shows wear especially at upper edge which has a one inch split at spine despite being reinforced along most of the length of the upper edge (on the inside) with masking tape. Boards show very light shelfwear along bottom edge. Interior is tight and unmarked except owner name in ink on front endpaper and two small (less than one-quarter inch) yellowish stains on front free endpaper. Lavishly illustrated in color with examples of artists' work. This is the English language edition. Preface is given in five European languages, but text accompanying illustrations is rendered in English.
