Elephant Folio size (20" x 16") executions, one as frontispiece (the one she has signed), and six more, apparently mostly from 1984: "Sheer Magic", "Memories", "Kitty", "I Generally Avoid Temptation Unless I Can't Resist", "John Hancock", and"Between Two Evils". Absolutely succulent offerings, allegedly (according to the frontispiece) in a signed, numbered edition of 8,000 - but I have trouble picturing Olivia sitting and executing that amazing signature 8,000 times, followed by a different number each time. Original sepia montone paintings - 2 of them, the study and the final version, which are indeed difficult to tell apart - by the late noted science fiction / fantasy illustrator David W. Burton, who passed away on December 8th of 2011. Both executions are 9" x 12", Fine. Signed and dated, though in a different place on each of the study and the final. There are several other differences of note. Annotations on reverse in each case. Burton's painting is of Guy Davis' offbeat comic book hero, The Marquis, and was the painted study for the pin-up in the back of the 2002 issue, The Marquis / Devil's Reign / Hell's Courtesan #2 II of II (Oni Press, Ltd., 2002) - and is appreciated, and depicted, front and center on Guy Davis' The Marquis webpage . Collier, 1900 (1903) (see explanation below). First Edition in this form. A very large - Elephant folio - collection of black and white, and some full color, art by the estimable illustrator A.B. Wenzell; all of it being oversized as well. Some occupy two elephant folio pages, including a two-page color frontis. Illustrated beige boards and quarter cloth, unpaginated. Very Good. Some small-scale wear at edges and corners and a bit of soiling; a little weakness at front hinge. Handsome and really quite tight for the condition this book is usually found in. Large reproductions of drawings by Wenzell, depicting courtship, recreation, and other aspects of life at the turn of the century, in America and England. Signed at lower left. Cramolini is the only living Cramolini artist in a lineage of composers and artists in an artistic dynasty dating from 1658 (see: "Die Kramolin Saga" [Carl Nodl]). The Spring, 1944 "Railley Pin-It-Ups" edition; in fact, Railley wrappers around a Zoe Mozert booklet of her mutoscope pin-up art, each example of which bears her imprinted signature as well as the monogram of Brown & Bigelow, the mutoscope card folks. Not actually cars, but the same art with dotted lines (not perforated) along which to cut the pin-ups out. An extraordinarily textured, detailed, labor-intensive piece by Rosema of a fly-like alien apparently floating amid unidentifiable debris in - is it space, or another dimension ? A sizable and wordlessly impactful Rosema effort; matt and frame it, and stick this one front and center on a long zenny white wall - or a black one. Maximal creep-out effect. Unpublished, or so I'm told, so it's all yours - though no doubt reproduction rights are retained by Rosema. L308

Charles Ricketts (1866-1931) was a respected illustrator, painter, art writer, theater designer, collector and - briefly - publisher: he operated The Vale Press from 1896 to 1904. Among his more noted works as an illustrator are three of Oscar's Wilde's titles and 'Daphnis and Chloe' 1893. Not particularly famed for his fiction at any time, he nonetheless provided interesting, if unusually constructed, stories in this beautifully produced edition. l49n

Burton executed private commissions for a number of well known authors and producers, among those Ray Bradbury, and Danton Burroughs described Burton's art as the best representation of his grandfather's Tarzan story-line in many years.
